Senator John Hickenlooper
@hickenlooper
Proudly serving the people of Colorado in the U.S. Senate
Trump’s illegal war in Iran is costing Americans here at home.
Wildfires are burning everywhere, from Canada to Colorado. This is a climate emergency. It shouldn’t take smoke covering D.C. to force Congress to take action. We need all hands on deck NOW.
Disaster relief should never be political. These are communities that are hurting and have been through the worst times of their lives. It’s so far below our shared American values and is unacceptable.
Remember when Trump said his illegal war with Iran would be over in just a few weeks? Well, it’s been 139 days and he still has no plan to get us out of it and bring down costs for you at home.
Our visit to the Aspen Acres burn site was just heartbreaking. Homes destroyed and lives turned upside down. Our eternal gratitude goes out to our first responders and emergency teams who are putting everything on the line to protect our neighbors and communities.
Trump’s economy and his illegal war with Iran are ballooning gas prices for Colorado families. A president who claims to put Americans first is doing the exact opposite.
Our communities need all the resources they can get to combat this devastating wildfire season. We saw this firsthand visiting Beulah. Trump’s cuts to the Forest Service and his politicization of FEMA funding puts the safety of Americans last.
This photo says what words can't. We saw firsthand the damage the Aspen Acres wildfire has had on Coloradans. Homes gone. Lives upended. Communities forever changed. We're fighting to make sure Colorado gets every resource and dollar it needs to rebuild and recover from these horrific disasters.
Our rural communities are the engines of our economy. Great to be in Walsenburg to hear more about what Washington can do to help small businesses and towns across Colorado.
We’re here with crews in Buena Vista who are fighting the Willow fire. We must do everything we can across every level of government to make sure these crews and communities have everything they need.
We won’t forget the bravery and sacrifice of the three firefighters lost battling the Snyder Fire. Our hearts are with them and the injured firefighters recovering now.
Great to be with Coloradans in Glenwood Springs over the holiday weekend!
A man who mistakes gold for greatness will end up with neither.
Had the chance to meet with community members in Meeker and listen to how we can help Coloradans recover from last year’s devastating Elk and Lee Fires. As Colorado battles more wildfires, we have no time to waste to support the impacted communities.
We’re on the ground near Steamboat where conditions are ripe for wildfires. This megadrought is an emergency. All of us, across the state, need to work together to address our water future.
We’re forever grateful for our servicemembers as we head into July 4th weekend.
Climate change is here and now. It’s time to take action and protect our communities.
Scam after scam after scam. While you’re struggling to afford groceries, housing, and healthcare, Trump and his family are banking billions on crypto scams. The most corrupt administration in our nation’s history.
While hundreds of thousands of Coloradans were making their voices heard yesterday, Tina Peters and Donald Trump were in the Oval Office undermining confidence in our democracy. (1/2)
On the ground today in Mesa County meeting with the brave firefighters and emergency management staff who are responding to the horrific Snyder fire. We’ll fight for any support or resources they need as they continue battling these destructive fires.
Denver Pride was electric today! Great to see everyone celebrating our LGBTQ+ community as we continue the fight to make sure everyone has the freedom to be who they are and love who they love. 🏳️🌈
Colorado Pastor Edward Nalwamba should be with his own congregation today. Instead, he's being detained at the Aurora ICE detention facility and faces deportation to Uganda where his safety is at risk.
Big problems call for big solutions. That's why we fought for and passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the largest investment in infrastructure in generations. Roads. Bridges. Water. Airports. All laying the foundation for a stronger Colorado.
Last year, we liberated the Kennedy Center. Now, Trump’s name is off the building, his hand-picked director gone, and we’re still celebrating Pride!
Our public lands aren't for sale to fund billionaire tax breaks. Not now. Not ever. When MAGA Republicans tried to sell off our public lands we fought them and won. These lands should be cherished and preserved for future generations to enjoy.
Tina Peters doesn’t deserve a dime of your taxpayer money. She deserves to be in jail. We led the fight that forced the White House to back down from its disgraceful slush fund for election criminals and the Jan. 6 rioters. And we'll keep fighting until it's dead permanently.
We voted twice this week to end Trump’s illegal war in Iran that’s raising costs on you and your family. The president is focused on everything except lowering costs for American families.
Women should make their own healthcare decisions, not politicians. On the fourth anniversary of the Dobbs decision, we’re fighting to restore reproductive freedom.
