One half of Agents of Sigmar on YT, Book Reviews at PotsandPlots.blog and gardener at home.
Sorting out some old #warhammer stuff. Wondering if it's time to find it a new home... #oldhammer
@headofzeus.bsky.social very kindly sent me a copy of "A God of Countless Guises" by @bradleypbeaulieu.bsky.social. Thrilled to see this at the beginning. The Dragons of Deepwood Fen was a deeply immersive but had a lot of threads to it. Why doesn't every series do this? #booksky
Finally got all my review and book club commitments out of the way and I can read my most anticipated book of 2026! The Knight Watch by @thomasdlee.bsky.social If you haven't read Perilous Times yet, I wholeheartedly recommend you do!
I thought I'd read more #books than usual in May, but #Storygraph says not. I must have spent too much time in the garden. #booksky
@angryrobotbooks.bsky.social sent me this beauty by @jeffnoon.bsky.social and it's hard to describe just how good it is. I'm about halfway through and I would love to cancel the rest of the day and finish it! Reminds me of Alan Garner and Jo Walton's Among Others
Last month's #storygraph stats. Slowed down a little in April. Better weather means more gardening! #booksky
My current name is borne out of my long standing love of reading and my new(ish) obsession, gardening. Most notably my collection of pots.
Exciting book news from the fine purveyors of exciting book news @blackcrowpr.bsky.social. Peelhouse Press is a brand new hybrid #fantasy publisher. The launch book is The Path and The Way - Book 1 in the #Ringlander trilogy by Michael S Jackson with @thebrokenbinding.bsky.social production #booksky
Playing catch-up a little bit, but here are my March #storygraph stats. Looking at my April pile and feeling a little overwhelmed! I cannot decide which order to read things. The Count of Monte Cristo might get pushed back a little further. #reading #booksky
Finished painting a bit more #Warhammer! #nurgle #darkwater #paintingwarhammer
My two themes intersect as my current read unexpectedly has a chapter about miniature daffodils. This niche for this joke is just a nanometer wide.
My current #reading. One is significantly easier to follow than the other.
A meaningful pairing in the Book Garden today. Both sum up where we are and where we might be going. @orendabooks.bsky.social @thomasdlee.bsky.social
I have managed to finish four models (oh and the Kelpies) from Darkwater. Though I was fortunate enough to be sent an early copy. To paint the box the standard it deserves is going to take me a very long time!
A bit of #warhammer for a Friday afternoon. My Kurnoth's Heralds from the new Spitewood Underworlds box #paintingwarhammer.
Blood of the Bull from #warhammerunderworlds finished. Now to workout which decks to play them with. #paintingwarhammer
I've been painting up some #warhammerunderworlds minis from the latest Spitewood boxed set that GW sent us to review.
Unfortunately, I'm having to take a break from long-form reviews, but I have a few books I'm slated to review that I'd like to shout about, starting with "Who Will You Save?," a collection of short stories by @garethlpowell.bsky.social from @titanbooks.bsky.social . #sff #booksky
Stayed up late finishing 'Daughter of the Otherworld' by @shaunalawless.bsky.social. A great transition into a new era of the Gael Song saga. I'm so invested in these characters' lives, it's almost painful. Once again, the end has left me hanging out for more! #booksky @headofzeus.bsky.social
I'm AFK at the moment, so can't write a full review of "The Damned King" but I can report that @justinleeanderson.com has smashed it out of the park again. Such good characters and a great story with a dastardly villain! Please don't leave us waiting for book 4. I have to know! #booksky
It's my turn on the blog tour for Seven Recipes for Revolution by Ryan Rose from @daphnepress.bsky.social "Paprick is a common butcher, carving slabs of meat from gargantuan monsters so elite chefs can prepare magic-granting meals for the rich." If that premise doesn't intrigue you, nothing will!
Unexpected book post this week, with a garden theme! "The Strange Disappearance of Imogen Good" by Kirsty Applebaum promises a hidden garden, an ancient fairy tale, and a missing child. Looking forward to reading this one. It's out in September from @nosycrow.bsky.social
We have been messing around with the most recent Kill Team starter set. I had to pause to paint up Kamandora for Underworlds but now I'm back on it and up to 3 Imperial Fists #paintingwarhammer
My most hotly anticipated book of 2025 has arrived! Sent to me by @orbitbooks.bsky.social @justinleeanderson.com's "Eidyn Saga" has been the best fantasy series I've read in years. I dropped my current read, and dived straight in. Pictured with my new agave bookstand! #booksky
No books today but some #warhammer instead. GW sent us a box of Kamandora's Blades from #WHU. Death by 1000 Cuts for the Blood God, or something.
Yesterday's book post saw the arrival of 'Acts of God' by Kanan Gill, sent to me by @blackstonepub.bsky.social. Its philosophical underpinnings look to chime with today's book post, 'Circular Motion' by Alex Foster from @atlanticbooks.bsky.social #booksky Very much looking forward to reading both!
