I actually wrote time sensitivity as a risk factor into forthcoming guidance for cycling instructors in the UK for when training with ebikes. This gets released next week some time.
The way TfL handle cycles on red routes is hit and miss. This is a (banned) desire line right turn from Wharf Road onto City Road EC1 by the drive through McDonald's. There's absolutely massive pavements here that could at the very least be shared space to the crossroads at Central St.
I think we're about there. Some proper off road tyres and a shorter, modern stem (1" to 1 1/8 quill stem adapter). This is proving very fun.
I think we're about done here. Some anodised purple bars, a Shark Fin™, and recabling.
Motonormativity is putting a parking suspension for roadworks yet still putting all the roadwork signs on the pavement. @rantyhighwayman.bsky.social any idea why pavements positioning of signs seems to be the typical case?
It's 30°c at 10am, you're wearing a bucket hat and listening to Alan Parsons Project. You're very 46.
Audi + dude baby sticker is the biggest red flag for absolutely terrible school run drivers.
Nice problem to have. But it's clear that physics changes between cycle types, and it's starting to be recognised. www.instagram.com/p/DZYFFuFkr-...
New pump track right next to Mornington Crescent station is awesome, and my 3 year old has already mastered it.
Stuff a cargobike could do. Pitch brushing. @cycleislington.uk @islington-council.bsky.social
Sod it, just take the lot. This is why I think the Tern GSD is one of the best bikes ever designed. - 26" bike - 14" bike - Satchel - 2x mechanic toolkits - Workstand / pump - 3 year old All of it.
Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin are Studio Ghibli for the UK. Same commitment to a level of realism, same lack of clear conflict. Absolute top tier world building. This picture from Ivor the Engine has so much beauty and starkness.
This kind of shit being sold on Instagram is why we're so confused about ebikes. For parents who obviously aren't concerned about potentially outliving their children.
