5 pending bills in NY address algorithmic pricing - S1573 from Senator Krueger seems like it tackles this. (but we have a two house system, there is no Assembly sponsor) empire.jehiah.cz?q=algorithm+... www.nysenate.gov/legislation/...
When you see a vehicle in a bus stop do you report it? I happen to know the M50 has no camera enforcement - but parking in bus stops and bus lanes should get you ticketed instantly in midtown regardless. 311-28289119
You’re thinking: perhaps they don’t know the front license plate is missing They know. After 16 tickets they know. howsmydrivingny.nyc/cu1t1nu0
NYPD gets it's best scores in handling Blocked Driveway complaints 60% are satisfied 35% dissatisfied. Here too scores were better Sept 25 - Feb 26
Data Update: June 311 Report Cards are out Still only 13% satisfaction with NYC Parking Enforcement Brief improvements back in Sept-Dec 2025 have disappeared. I've love to find out what was behind that. reports.jehiah.cz/311_report_c...

Without towing, once you get a ticket it’s a get-out-of-jail-free card to stay illegally parked for the rest of the day
Summons issued. (Of course If I were running things I would always call for a tow for vehicles on the sidewalk. )
Out surveying 9th Ave and talked with a parking enforcement agent who absolutely reduced to enforce regulations on this state. Said the double white line on its own was not clear enough.
Too bad a judge let this driver off before even hearing his sob story - this ticket was valid in my book (even if license plate frames are commonplace). License plate frames rarely leave the full plate unobstructed. It is my opinion they should be banned explicitly www.nysenate.gov/legislation/...
I ended up switching from gril to griddle (Halo) and so far happy with it. Excited it will open up more options to cook outside this summer. It didn't work to go electric - Renting and not actually having an electrical outlet outside were barriers. (thanks for recs @marcprecipice.bsky.social )
Advocates for years: "make daylighting universal to improve pedestrian visibility" DOT: No Also DOT: "oh, daylight this spot because suddenly large vehicles need to turn here that didn't need it yesterday"
Narrow lanes slow vehicle traffic, and NYC City Council required them - but DOT makes up all sorts of excuses for wide lanes. DOT: "meh - it's a bus route. We will add an 11 ft lane."
Narrow lanes slow vehicle traffic, and NYC City Council required them - but DOT makes up all sorts of excuses for wide lanes. DOT: "It's two-way; we think 11ft is standard" What standard? The whole point of the law was 10ft narrow lanes is now a standard design element because it improves safety.
All of this matters because many many drivers need the escalating fines to get the hint. A $50 fine doesn't mean much. A $250 fine does.
For comparison - how long does it take DOT to process Red Light violations + Speed Camera violations? Speed camera: 100% processed under 2wks Red Light camera: 100% processed under 4wks
30% of MTA camera fines in March 2026 took 13+ weeks to process. April, May, June violations all have not been processed and don't show in open data. What is delaying processing camera violations @mta.info @nycdotprojects.bsky.social ?
NY statewide mask ban on law enforcement - including ICE - went into effect June 26 @newyorkstateag.bsky.social @tonysimone.bsky.social are you investigating & prosecuting ? x.com/letsgetatter...
