First sunflower of the year! 🌻💚🌱 Seeds from @sevenhillfarm.bsky.social #gardening
The recent storms seem to have cleared the air a bit. This scale was up to pink last week. Now it's back to normal for here. The barometer, however, is not my friend. It's too damn low. #EhlersDanlos #POTS #spoonie
Here's a *totally believable* 🙄 DM I received from some rando/bot. Do the people who do this/have a bot do this realize how phony they sound?
I have been loving the #Jimothy posts, and thought the proportions mateched my raccoon from Alligator's Friends (the children's book I illustrated with torn paper collage). So I found a snap of the original artwork, and digitally removed the tail (by hand). 🦝
Did the city ever deal with the beach bacteria issue from earlier in the month? Not that anyone should go today, with the impending thunderstorms, the riptide warning, and the flash flood watch. The storms are supposed to help the air quality though.
I #voted in today's primary. The sticker has been added to my important sticker frame.
I spent a lovely afternoon at @momaps1.bsky.social with @amygoldschlager.bsky.social yesterday. I particularly liked this frog, from a painting by artist Taína Cruz. Y'all should go see the whole thing. The museum is right by Court Square and is free for everyone. #museum
There's a patch of land we're responsible for that was dull and wouldn't grow anything because people don't know how to be courteous dog owners. So I made a motivational rock garden and exchange since there's already a LFL in the neighborhood. I put down clean soil and mint seeds too. #RockGarden
I've painted our old garbage bin to be a container for growing blueberries. I drilled drainage holes, and filled it with brown paper, sticks, soil, and coconut coir. Next: blueberries! #gardening #upcycle #containergarden
A LinkedIn message preview that felt like a threat. #BadEconomy #HorribleJobMarket
I grew up hearing stories of my great uncle Carlton, who was killed in battle in WWII. The USS Strickland was named for him. Wishing a meaningful Memorial Day to all who are remembering. May we soon have peace, so as not to add more names to the memorial list.
I've been painting rocks. Since nothing will grow in the dirt patch by the street, I'm going to make a rock garden. These frogs were made tonight. #HumanArt
This afternoon, I was looking at the sunliight playing through my colorful vases of expired flowers. I thought that the bright cheerful glass holding crumbling blooms felt like a great metaphor for this moment. So I got out the acrylic markers and drew it with dots. #HumanArt
We went out to a Broadway show last night. A rare treat. Most of the shows I've seen in NYC were because I was chaperoning field trips. This was an actual date night. ❤️
Made a wee bouquet in a small vase to celebrate the petite blue blooms from my spring garden.
This adorable hat belonged to my grandmother, and I want to find something I can wear with it. Everything I have in this color is for cold weather, though!
Be aware that a LOT of the ads you see in apps are now AI Slop. The people, the images, the text, the voiceover. Real people weren't paid to create something good. Automatic Infringement programs made a crap approximation of something human. If you still support AI, you're weird and wrong.
Our late, great, clever orange kitty Bleys would have been 25 years old today. He missed turning 20 by three weeks. Missing him today, and every day.
My favorite daffodils are in bloom! Not as many as usual this year, but it was a wonky winter. So happy to see my pretty peachy daffodils! 💚🌱🌷
Panic-mongering media and cultists are trying to convince the world that the trans population is the 1% we should be worried about. Trans people aren't the reason your bills are high/your healthcare is gone. That's caused by the morally corrupt oligarchs that are bending policy to enrich themselves.
I was inspecting the yard this morning and discovered that the strawberries I planted last year are already coming back! 🌱💚🍓 #gardening #spring
