I wasted 5 minutes debugging an issue that was actually just game systems interacting correctly - skill A was applying buff B, which was being consumed when it saw skill A finish being used, so it looked like the buff was failing to apply The solution was to filter the skills the buff cared about
I love domain specific languages. It takes me about an hour to add a new playable character with her own abilities and interlocking status effects, including the time I spend cropping placeholder images in Affinity to make the game not complain when loading assets
I vaguely recalled something so I looked it up, and in fact he was on bail for a previous offense when he committed a new offense. It seems pretty standard to get punished for violating bail. And it sounds like there was good cause to do *something* even if what they've done is unjust.
One of my JRPG design rules is that everything should be mechanically dense and extremely stupid
This is definitely an AI upscale or reconstruction if you compare it with the source art. Maybe a camera reconstructing the image from low res sensor data? There are other parts of the image that look strange too.
It's wild that it's been like over a month and Chinese gamers are still collectively review bombing slay the spire 2, that's commitment. The review average for CN is like ~30% vs over 90% in other regions
Giving it everything is tough, sure, but not throwing up is the hard part some days
Truly ridiculous broken behavior that has been around for a while and I guess nobody on the Office team uses Word to write documents because they would've noticed it for sure. It's so jarring to have your document warp and shift around as you type.
"On their own hardware" on what hardware? Have you seen hardware prices lately? I periodically see people talking about democratizing AI or whatever and running it on local hardware and buddy, normal people don't have hardware with enough VRAM for good models
I probably miscounted the passives and status effects, I think she has more actually. See for yourself. These character kits are *novel-length*
Limbus Company is such a masterwork and also a total complete design nightmare at the same time. This stupid butterfly is my worst enemy. Yes, I love to spend 20 turns slogging through a fight only to get ambushed by a hidden ability that will brick your run unless you already knew about it
Posts like this remind me that everyone has different reasons for using social media I don't doubt that on mastodon people are more willing to repost stuff to their followers, and it's true that hitting like on a bsky post realistically doesn't do anything. But is visibility intrinsically good?
Amazon's not doing it for me right now (maybe it was an a/b test?) but for me when i log into paypal I get this modal with no close/cancel option
At least it's in the release notes so I know I'm not crazy. Yeah I'm fucking enjoying having my development experience be jarring and uncomfortable because you messed with me for no good reason!!!!
Fuck the ghouls at First Tech Federal Credit Union wtf "oh no the money you left in our hands to turn a profit on isn't being used! we gotta charge you an UPKEEP FEE for these 3 rows in our sql database!!!!"
Late to the party on playing it but it's surprising how poorly Citizen Sleeper 1 explains how to play itself, despite how many detailed tutorial screens it has. I've gotten confusing outcomes 4 times and already deleted a save twice Like this, which stumped me for a bit and means 'click everything'
It's nice having an expressive IMGUI toolkit where I can rough up an implementation of a mockup in an hour
It took me roughly 90 minutes to realize that I was accidentally playing Library of Ruina on hard mode
This change to Twitch's top nav is so cringe At first I thought "maybe tons of viewers are just coming to Twitch for it and I'm out of touch?" but no, it's not even in the top 10 games by viewer count
Great Job GitHub team pt. 2: The 'new and improved' files tab removed suggestion batching, but other parts of the pull request UI still tell you to go to the files tab
