Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016) this was just fun all around. I love how absolutely fucking done Sam Neill's character Hec looks throughout it.

D. The Piano (1993) long before he made me despise that prick of a cop in Peaky Blinders, he did a scary fantastic job making me absolutely want to wring Alisdairs neck & wear his ribcage. Again, this is a testament to how he can embody so many different characters.

C. The Tudors (2007) Sam Neill's Cardinal Thomas Wosley was a flawed & very human dude that became too caught up in preserving influence that it bit him on the ass. Everyone did a great job in this, but Neill's acting was just 💯👏🏼 (Henry the 8th can still suck it)

B. Merlin (1998) a TV show I used to watch as a kid. It's dated, but it still has its whimsy charm. Sam starring as the titular character makes it worthwhile rewatching. He's great at playing wise dudes.

Everyone freaks out when I say I have pet snakes, but I've been bitten once in the 10 years I've had them. In my experience, lizards are what you need to watch out for. My 14 yo leopard gecko, Vito, went ham as soon as I opened the tank. He got me good!

Power dressed in silk ribbons,
Sealed in expensive paper,
Handed out like medals
To lords & borrowed kings.

Mr.
Mrs.
Professor.
Doctor.
Different uniforms
On the same ladder to nowhere

Respect is never hidden inside a title

I'm educated, yes,
But my power lives elsewhere—
In the name I chose,
The one no institution bestowed,
Be it parents or otherwise.

Respect isn't earned by a title.
It begins with a pulse.

Before credentials,
Before rank,
There is a person–
That should be enough.
