How does this work? Let’s find out!
This poll is only a snapshot of now. However, I hope it stops @greenparty.org.uk& @zackpolanski.bsky.social spreading misinformation that Manchester is a contest between Reform & Green Party. It never was. & it’s not FPTP, it’s transferable vote. If you say you’re going to b more honest pls do it👇
At last! An MP raising why are UK tax payers subsidising profit making corps who fail to pay a living wage @ianbyrnemp.bsky.social pls can you post your excellent intervention on Bluesky as well as X? Audience is growing & it’s not contributing towards coffers of far right billionaire interests!
madeswarungamsterdam.nl/contact (see photo for what I ate) Also if you are near Leidseplein there’s a really tasty & cheap Chinese hand pulled noodle place - go early or there’s queue xianleidsedwarsstraat.nl/info & if you like v good chocolate check out puccinibomboni.com/en/visit-our... 👍😊
Was sent this and fully agree with David Shrigley (I presume from the looks of it, I could always be wrong tho..). Today, “the sun is not your friend. The sun is a bastard” 🥵
Anyone remember this?👇 🤔 How times have changed.. in just six months 😳 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
There are many things Tim Shipman, the Spectator, & I disagree on. However, his advice to Labour MPs re candidates (posted on X) is something they should ALL be considering. Sooner rather than later. It’s the kind of q’s I wished they’d paused & reflected on BEFORE meltdown, but we are where we are😳
“What’s done is done and can not be undone” twitter.com/pjtheeconomi...?
Today I am in complete agreement with Alastair Campbell’s post from ‘the other place’. All these PLP members talking about “not playing games” & Starmer’s lack of strategy, whilst engaging in a press led feeding frenzy, failing to do strategic analysis & pissing around 2 days before the Kings speech
The UK is very vulnerable to real world impact from bond markets & economic shocks. If people don’t understand Starmer’s sense of duty to UK citizens & a key reason he has repeatedly tried to give bond markets confidence in his staying & stave off higher borrowing costs... then maybe have a think.
Hear hear! I was sent the Tim Shipman X post below by someone & thought he’s either trying to sink Labour or has caught the inability to count from McSweeny. In the first place, anyone writing “whisper it quietly” deserves a metaphorical ‘wet kipper around the face’ And it’s still bollox because👇
I mean, when you see it like this it’s not like Labour Govt have done nothing, as you would guess from some commentators & Opposition parties statements. One may not hv liked the Labour manifesto, or not voted for it, but they seem to be making good progress on the legislation promised within it.
Local election party comms update: I had a labour council election canvasser knock & set out some local achievements & spent a long time listening to my complaints re govt & local lack of disability services & lack of accessibility. I’ve had a new Green Party leaflet which seems to be for a GE 👇
I haven’t seen any local candidate information from Greens in my area. Who are the candidates & their experience? What are the Green policies for my local area? What are the solutions for any local council failings? I don’t want just “hope” - I want progressive, practical & viable options. 👍😊1/2
From the other place post from Steven Swinford, political editor of the times
Congratulations! I was listening & it was a great answer 😊 I still always hear “Ray Liotter” as Ray Lee Otter… 🦦
From ‘the other place’ (i was sent it & I looked for it here but couldn’t find it). A very important fact - because we all want to make judgments on what IS rather than projections, assumptions, fears, slander or rumour.
As seen on “Guardian Politics Live with @andrewsparrowgdn.bsky.social “ Seems like a journalist has possibly found a sore spot for Reform and Zahawi.. Could be an area that would reward further investigation, or a question to repeat to Zahawi until he gives a civil and informing answer? 1/2
The feedback John refers to in his article from his recent book tour - about autism not being linear - is an issue many autistic people wish was understood widely. It’s recognised by the best of autism specialists but not understood by many in media, govt or GPs etc. Think ‘spidergram’ not line 😊👇
Re: Streeting’s announcement of a review into “over diagnosis” of “mental health, Aitism and ADHD” I’ve sent an email to the minister cc’d to the lords autism act select committee: posted 2 screen shots but all text in Alt text - feel free to use as inspiration if it helps you to draft your own 1/3
This is good news 🎉🎉😊 “In its first year in office, Keir Starmer’s government has invested £2bn more than Johnson did in his first year – with £4.5bn allocated to regional investment programmes in Labour’s first year compared with £2.5bn spent in the equivalent period under Johnson” Link 👇 🧵
