Music, hills, trees and other green things, crafty stuff, photos, books, cats and dogs. Work in social care. Easily distracted.
I've left my back garden to go wild for longer than usual and it's now a ragwort jungle. I wasn't seeing many beasties on it for a bit and was going to chop it but in the last few days it's been attracting lots of bees, hoverflies, moths and butterflies so I've an excuse to wait a bit longer.
It was quite an experience - they were everywhere! I did spend quite a lot of time watching (and listening) to the kittiwakes - so many fluffy babies!
I'm always too late to see the puffins when I visit the Isle of May. As we landed @steelyseabirder.bsky.social greeted us off the boat, beaming & pointing to the swarms of thousands of puffins in the sky & said we were in for a treat. Indeed we were 😁
More late teenage memories triggered - this time a hol in Blackpool with pals. Just spent ages looking for a photo and that in turn made me think of pit towels - my brother was a miner at Polmaise Colliery so no posh fluffy towels for us. Found a better pit towel photo in my search. Anyway, Abba 🕺
The road and the miles to Dundee - sorry if that gets stuck in anyone's head now but I shouldn't suffer alone.
First tunes of the day. This album always lifts my spirits so I listened to it twice.
I'm a bit late for the solstice but this is the perfect way to start your day - or end your day. Grab 10 mins and have a listen. 💚 (This was my Yorkshire solstice)
Always get a good show of clouds on the East Coast line -(the black bits are not birds /aliens but dirty LNER windaes)
After the depressing events of last night it was good to stand with old friends & new & feel some positivity. It was also great to get so much support from MSPs & I enjoyed wee chats with #scotgreens Cara, Kate & Iris 💚💜✊.
Spent a beautiful, joyful, inclusive day in Edinburgh with our #unisonscot migrant workers in support of their call for fairer visas/sponsorships ... also learned some new dance moves. 💜✊🕺
If you're in Edinburgh tomorrow between 11am & 1.30pm please come and join #unisonscotland outside parliament for a day of action in support of our migrant workers. @unison.org.uk
I only listened to Simple Minds while I was away - sometimes my needle gets stuck! ... anyway, home to this lovely new collection from Lowri Evans
Didn't sleep well and woke up just before 4am to a lovely view from my bed so I did the sane thing and made tea and took it outside to watch the sun appear in the sliver of sky with no cloud.
