Margaret Mullane MP
@margaretmullanemp
Labour Member of Parliament for Dagenham and Rainham. @Margaret4DR - X @margaret4dr - Instagram People resist by telling their story- Bell Hooks
Great to be at London Labour's Conference recently discussing outcomes for children in temporary accommodation. Housing underpins everything in life. As a member of @ta-appg.bsky.social I’m always working to increase the provision of council housing as a way to solve the housing crisis. 🏠
Great to hear the legend Billy Hayes at the Dagenham and Rainham Labour Party meeting. A big hit with the local members. 🌹
Great to be at the Eastbrook country park. CPR training available. Organised by Tanim. Lots of people utilising the park, cafe and open spaces.
Amanda Martin APPG Tradespeople. Pleasure to chair our first Tradespeople APPG Roundtable in Parliament to discuss how we can better support Britain's tradespeople. Huge thanks to everyone involved for pushing these issues to the forefront of policy!
Councillor Rubina Siddiqui. At the Dagenham and Rainham job fair a few weeks ago. Rubina is the cabinet member for inclusive economy and skills. Great turnout.
My article in the Summer 2026 @thefabians.bsky.social Review. I set out some of the barriers which hold back working class people from becoming MPs, and outline how Labour can empower more working-class people on a path to Parliament. 👇
Good to meet with the London Mayor Sadiq Khan last night. Lots discussed. Launders Lane, Queen Mary University work on Launders Lane, Beam Park train station, the Superloop bus update in Rainham and the Dagenham East step free access update. I will keep everyone posted as always.
Great to visit Barking Market last week where children from Dagenham & Rainham schools were selling produce they had grown themselves as part of the @schoolfoodmatters.bsky.social young marketeers programme. Lots of buzz, and great to see. #FoodEducation is so important! 🌱🍎
Last week I held a parliamentary drop-in to raise awareness of Pica. This is just the start of my work on this, with many actions to come in support of families across Dagenham & Rainham and beyond. Thanks to the MPs who stopped by to hear from my constituents.
A couple of weeks ago @dailymail.co.uk asked for a comment on the ‘Rainham Volcano’ but only covered the interventions from a Tory MP and the Reform council. I guess my quote didn’t fit their narrative. Here’s the article (behind a paywall): dailymail.com/news/article... Here’s what I said. 👇
So proud to be at the armed forces parade on Saturday. We owe our armed forces so much. I am pictured with Councillor Stanton from Beam Park Ward. The other photograph is Dave Ainsworth a veteran. Thank you from us all.
Last Tuesday I was at Dagenham Green, joined by the @ldnculture.bsky.social, as Peabody and The Hill Group unveiled two new art installations to commemorate the striking Ford women. The story behind “Dagenham Agate” is fascinating and I’d urge residents to pop down and learn more!
So proud, to attend the Armed Forces flag raising yesterday, at Havering town hall. To be able to thank the armed forces for all they have done, and continue to do for this country.
I was proud to be asked to speak at the launch of the foodbank by the faith group. Ideally we should be in a place in society without food banks. But as they said today, and Pastor Peter from Rainham was there too, said the same thing. Working people are using food banks. Hope is their offer.
This week @amandamartinmp.bsky.social and I launched the APPG for Tradespeople. Honoured to be elected Vice Chair on such an important group. We’ll be looking at a wide range of issues affecting trades, including tool theft and silicosis. Watch this space! 🛠️👀
Well done Dagenham United football club in all you do. Parents, trainers and the young people all 400 of you you are amazing!
Great day Saturday, a tour of 10 Downing Street. Angela got to see, and stroke Larry the cat. Who was asleep by the stairs. Loads of interesting fact
We are a month on from the local elections, there has been a lot of change and all eyes are on @LBofHavering. Today I have written to the new Leader of the Council outlining a plan to deliver for the people I represent in the south of the borough.
Live or work in Heath Ward and want to help transform the area? The government have given us £20m to invest over the next decade, and we are looking for a dynamic local resident to Chair the Pride in Place Board. Applications close on 15th June! 👇 oneboroughvoice.lbbd.gov.uk/pride-in-pla...
I know, from speaking with schools and parents across Dagenham & Rainham, that this has made a huge difference to families in our area. This is Labour at its best. 🌹👇
As a member of the Home Affairs Select Committee, I had the opportunity to question the Chair of the Independent Inquiry into Grooming Gangs last week. I know there is a Westminster Hall debate on the subject today, but this is too important to be used as a political football.
Good to see Trade Unions, the chair of Dagenham and Rainham CLP Fay Hough, and the two Beam Park councillors at the LGBTQ+celebration. As the flag raising was cancelled by the Reform lead Council. It’s so important that Havering diverse communities, are recognised for all they contribute. 🏳️🌈
Great to be in Beam Park Ward last weekend. My roving surgeries around the seat. Great turnout, and great questions. Thank you to Karen and Sue for helping and my team. Thank you to Matthew and Trevor the Labour Beam Park Councillors, picking up the council issues.
Just back from Dunchurch House. Patricia was 90, a lovely party. Patricia has been a strong voice for the community, at Dunchurch and at the police ward panel. Have a lovely birthday 🎂🍾🎉🎈. ❤️Dagenham and Rainham
Following my SEND roundtable, I have made a submission to @bphillipsonmp.bsky.social as part of the consultation on the govt White Paper. Thanks to all the SEND parents, professionals and schools in Dagenham & Rainham for sharing your frank and honest thoughts. Getting this right is vital.
