Climate and democracy advocate. Running for State Rep. in District 1 (College Hill/Blackstone/Wayland) because we need Democrats who will fight for our values.
My mail ballot arrived today! I haven’t made up my mind in every race yet, but this one was easy. Request your mail ballot by Wednesday at vote.sos.ri.gov!
I'm honored and grateful to be endorsed by two of our city and state's strongest progressive champions, Senator @samuelwbell.bsky.social and Representative @enriquesanchezri.bsky.social. I can't wait to work with Sam, Enrique, and all my future colleagues to protect our services and our neighbors!
I’m honored to have been named a @momsdemandaction.org Gun Sense Candidate in recognition of my commitment to fighting to end the crisis of gun violence, an issue that is all too relevant in our district after last year’s horrific shooting.
Do my eyes deceive me, or are my opponent’s yard signs not union printed? Not a good look in a Democratic primary…
I couldn't ask for a better birthday gift than an endorsement from @runforsomething.net, an organization dedicated to reinvigorating the Democratic Party with a new wave of progressive energy! I'm honored to have earned RFS's support.
I suppose my opponent and I see the issues a little differently. In my book, voting for a tax break for Exxon doesn't count as "taking on the fossil fuel industry," and voting to allow non-renewable energy sources to count as renewable isn't "expanding renewables."
Signs of election season on Wayland Ave. My yard signs will be in next week! If you’re in the district and want to show your support, please let me know on here or fill out the form at michaeljgarman.com/yard-sign
Now that I’ve declared my candidacy, I need to collect signatures to qualify for the ballot! If you’re in the district, please let me know if there’s a good time for me or someone on our team to stop by. We’ll also be out knocking doors — if you can help, please get in touch!
Today, I officially declared my candidacy for State Representative. I’m incredibly grateful for all the neighbors whose support I’ve already earned and will keep working to grow that support over the 11 weeks left before the primary. Let’s do this! michaeljgarman.com
Happy Pride Month! I'm proud to be queer and will always stand up for the entire LGBTQ+ community in our city and state. In the midst of a backlash against all of us (but especially trans and nonbinary people), it's more important than ever that we all have each other's backs.
As the great @iandonnis.bsky.social reports, our opponent is getting into gear, and we need your help to keep building our momentum! Volunteer: MichaelJGarman.com/volunteer Donate: secure.actblue.com/donate/Micha...
I hope Rep. Ajello received assurances about these serious concerns raised by @steveahlquist.bsky.social before issuing this endorsement. I'm also surprised someone who professes a commitment to open government would endorse a candidate who reportedly has a record of delaying/denying APRA requests.
This Earth Day, I’m proud to take the #NoFossilFuelMoney pledge. As State Representative, I will fight for our planet, not polluters. (No Fossil Fuel Money asks candidates to commit to refusing gifts over $200 from the industry — I’m going a step further and won’t take a cent.)
While our opponent didn’t raise a single dollar in the first quarter of the year, we’ve been building more and more momentum every day. Join our team today to help elect a Democrat who will truly fight for our values! MichaelJGarman.com
