I stop to notice a banana skin on the pavement, its insides gone, its skin gently gorged on by snails who trail their slimy way across its surface, a collection of slow moving diners, the remaining yellow of this disembowelled fruit - bright against the grey ground.

Wow. The news is relentless. Exhausting. Devastating. Sometimes sharing my little observations feels like trying to grow a flower in a tornado. But these tiny acts matter. I’m sure of it. Every piece of art, or act of kindness by real humans, to and for each other, matters. More than ever.

She and I briefly share the pavement before she heads into an office and for that time I feel as though we are in some kind of improvised dance together.
