Proudly Representing New Jersey’s 10th Congressional District
The Trump administration just won't work for working people. A Small Business Administration official who is supposed to support entrepreneurs is selling them out. Why? Because he can't stand up to Trump about the administration's bad budget that guts tools for business owners.
Yesterday, I introduced a bill that will fund the resources small businesses need and protect working people. The SBDC Program is one of the most effective tools the SBA has to level the playing field for entrepreneurs--so I'm protecting it from Trump's attacks.
Happening now! I’m on the line for an hour for our telephone town hall☎️ Listen in and ask questions here: mciver.house.gov/live
TONIGHT, at 5pm, join us for a telephone town hall meeting. You can join from anywhere. Just call 855-821-1685 to dial in!
Today is Black Women’s Equal Pay Day—marking how far into the year Black women must work to earn what white men earned last year. On average, Black women earn 65 cents for every $1 paid to white men. It’s 2026, this is crazy. We need equity now.
This week on the House Floor, it was with a heavy heart that I honored the life and legacy of Joanne Rajoppi. A trailblazer and fierce advocate of New Jerseyans over her 53-year-long career, Joanne’s imprint on our state’s politics, courts, and history will be everlasting.
This week in the 10th (and in Washington!) Team LaMonica was… 📚Providing Mobile Office Hours. 📢Holding Trump’s attorney general pick accountable. 🩺 Getting you health info you need.
Join me on Tuesday for a tele-townhall! We will discuss all that’s been happening in D.C. and NJ-10. I’m looking forward to speaking with you about the issues that matter most. You can take part from anywhere! Stay tuned for details on how to join.
Are you a student seeking to make change in your community? I designed my Congressional Youth Advisory Council to prepare young people to become our next generation of leaders. Apply by August 24 to learn about leadership, policy, and making a difference.
I've been in the room since the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing began this morning, watching Acting AG Blanche dodge questions and spew lies. One thing is clear: if he’s confirmed, he would keep using the DOJ to serve his own interests and protect his friends, not Americans.
If we’re serious about encouraging tech innovation, we must protect the small businesses and communities that bear the costs of these changes. In the Small Business Committee, I asked the head of innovation & strategy at the Kapor Center how small businesses can assist, not replace, workers.
We are getting to the root of health issues in New Jersey! Join me for another State of New Jersey Health Facebook Live on Wednesday at 2PM to discuss diabetes awareness, prevention, and what we need to know to make NJ-10 a little bit healthier.
This week in the 10th, Team LaMonica was… 📚Bringing Congress to your corner in Newark. 🎉Providing constituent services at the Heal the Block Party at Turner Park. 💵 Supporting families through federal grants.
Team LaMonica was thrilled to bring Congress to your Corner at Military Park! We will keep showing up in your neighborhoods to get you the information and services you need.
Team LaMonica always shows up to secure wins for you! The IRS owed Jaclyn from West Orange money that she never received… until our team stepped in. We got to work and secured Jaclyn $1,595 in refunds. We loved helping her, and we can’t wait to help you at Mobile Office Hours!
Mark your calendars! We’ve changed hours for my Back to School Family Festival. I can’t wait to see you and your family at East Orange City Hall from 3:00PM-7:00PM on 7/30 to start the new school year!
💵Grant Alert! 💵 In NJ-10, we’re prioritizing public safety and staying resilient through tough times. I’m happy to announce a $1,538,650 grant to NJOEM for disaster relief and emergency assistance programs!
July is National Parks and Recreation Month! Everyone deserves access to safe and welcoming outdoor spaces. That’s why I introduced the Parks to People Act to expand access to greenway trails in our neighborhoods.
A good elected official listens, but there’s nothing wrong with holding their feet to the fire to make them hear you. Our community can’t afford to vote and get out of the game. At Essence Fest, I talked with @nativelandpod.bsky.social about harnessing our power.
Last year’s Back to School Festival was one for the books! And before books are opened in the classroom this school year, join us for this year’s Back to School Family Festival on July 30th!🎒
This week Team LaMonica was… 🎤 Discussing building our power at Essence Fest. 🌳Opening Linden’s newest park. 🇺🇸 Celebrating the 4th in Montclair!
Happy Independence Day, NJ-10! Today, we celebrate our nation’s ideals and recommit ourselves to building a stronger and more inclusive democracy for all.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to cover the cost of something I didn’t order. That’s why I introduced the AI Data Center Site Selection Transparency Act, because residents should have a voice in what happens in their neighborhood.
No child should go hungry just because school is out. I introduced the Summer Meals REACH Act with @kim.senate.gov to cut red tape, expand grab-and-go meal options, and help more communities provide free, healthy meals to kids all summer long.
It’s been one year of Trump’s Big Ugly Bill and we’ve only seen the rich get richer and American families struggle. We have all felt life get harder since this bill. We need leaders who work to make life easier, not sell us out for their billionaire backers.
On the anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, we honor the activists and leaders who pushed our nation closer to the promise of equality. We will keep fighting in their names for our future. That’s what is on the line.
I spend lots of time with NJ-10 students, and I get it: seeing Summer break end can be pretty sad, but it doesn’t have to be that way. At my Back to School Family Festival, I want to bring in the new school year with fun, excitement, and resources to excel in the classroom. 🎒
From stunning artwork to powerful poetry, NJ-10 is full of incredible talent. I loved celebrating our young artists at this year’s Art Competition and can’t wait to read this year’s poetry submissions. Tomorrow is the last day to enter.
