Battletech map, some stuff is on fire, and there's a lot of 'Mechs labeled "We Are Charlie Kirk", "We REALLY ARE Charlie Kirk", "CHARLIE KIRK CONVENTION", "I'M OUT OF CHARLIE KIRK JOKES", and "maybe their heads just do that". For something different there's a "BAW GAWD HE IS BROKEN IN HALF" in the upper right.

Self-indulgent OC Space Fiction #Lore Preview: Just to show what I've been puttering with in the background. There's a full character reference floating around somewhere; I just need to put skivvies on it before it can get a G rating.

It's everybody's favorite tiger-like space alien with the curly brown hair, fan-like webbed ears, naked black tail, and blue glasses! In this one they're just standing around with three views, as a reference: left side, front, back. They're wearing a midnight blue T-shirt with a roundel on the right shoulder, a gold stripe down the left shoulder, the label "A-K" in gold on their left breast, tucked into midnight blue knee-length shorts with a gold waistband and stripes down the sides. They stand barefoot on digitigrade legs.

It's still everybody's favorite tiger-like space alien with the curly brown hair, fan-like webbed ears, naked black tail, and blue glasses! In this one they're just standing around with three views, as a reference: left side, front, back. They're wearing a midnight blue jumpsuit with patch pockets on the upper arms, breast, waist, and outer thighs. Slit pockets sit at the hips. The flaps of the breast, arm, and thigh pockets, as well as the hems of the slit pockets and the cuffs of the sleeves, are gold. Roundels sit on the right shoulder and left breast on top of the pockets, while the right breast has an "ASÍPANI" nametape above the pocket. The left pocket bears two mission/ship patches stacked vertically, one having a design on a patch shaped like a Victorian tombstone and the other with a silver dragonfly on a black shield. Rounded shoulder tabs and stripes down the sides of the torso, arms, and legs are in candy-striped dark blue and slate grey: long bright gold isoceles triangle rank markers sit on the shoulder tabs, front and back. Their digitigrade legs end in high-top paratrooper boots that stop just above their ankle; the legs of their jumpsuit are bloused around them.

Scout-Commander Alex Kintaros' recent exploit of exhausting the SEEKER-class WHISKERBEARER's 50-year refit cycle life in 10 via space heroism provided a perfect test case: ex-DRAUGR, now MNEMOLOGIST, might last long enough to settle this Unitary Scout down into a real cruiser captain. 🧵9/15

Self-indulgent OC Space Fiction #Lore Drop: S.E.S. MNEMOLOGIST (CEL-2047) is actually several experiments stacked in a trenchcoat. This is true of most research cruisers, but it usually doesn't apply to the starship herself. The Exploration Service took full advantage of coincidence here. 🧵1/15

Her fore has a curved, beaklike appearance, and her aft consist of three curvy pods arranged in a triangle that all end in points and are connected together with webs. She does have a prominent battery of turrets, three arranged super-firing on the centerline per lateral quadrant (fore-dorsal, fore-ventral, aft-dorsal, aft-ventral); these are labeled as SHEAR LINEGUN TURRET (12). Relatively small spherical projections on her octants (fore-port-dorsal, for example) are labeled as PARTICLE CANNON EMITTER (42), and strips of linked triangles also roughly on each octant are ERASER ARRAYS (11). Conical projections disguised behind the webs of her aft are NEUTRINO HEAT SINK/DRIVE PROJECTOR CLUSTERS, and other features are the segmented RESEARCH EXPANSION BLISTERS (P/S), BAY DOORS (P/S, so there are four), and a centerline dorsal PROBE VLS.

"Small Step" pinnaces, Seeker-class scoutships, and Sphyrnidae-class cutters are shown to scale. The Seeker is about the size of one of her turrets and the Sphyrnidae is about fifty percent longer than that.

She is listed as having 1,500 crew (15,000 max capacity); unlimited endurance with in-situ refuel and resourcing, full recycling cycle, and full onboard fabrication; and as being jump-capable. Her embarked complement consists of two Sphyrnidae-class cutters, 24 "Small Step" or "Great Leap" scout pinnaces, 6 "Tonka" cargo lighters, and 15 "Meander" crew gigs.

Shevk Ponval is an extremely lanky, vaguely humanoid reptilian with a wedge-shaped head something like a skink's except with horned growths along his brows (which match similar growths on his knees and elbows). He's standing casually, wearing a jumpsuit with lots of pockets and futuristic paratrooper boots, with one hand in his pocket and the other spread towards the unseen person he's talking to. His long, thin, but tall tail curls behind him.

It looks like he's having an important, highly professional conversation going by the caption: "Look, all I'm saying is that flight is a way cooler superpower than, say, super-strength or teleknesis (sic). Don't you wish YOU could fly?"

#Kaijune is still going on--that's a perfectly legitimate excuse to do this comic that my husband and I have been joking about for ages now, right? Featuring: A-K (who is a reasonable size) and their husband (who is not).

A comic, electronically drawn, but made to look like black pen and marker. Five panels.

Panel 1: Scene is a darkened kitchen. A-K, the tiger-like alien of curly hair, webbed fin-like ears, and glasses, mixes something in a bowl, going tik-tik-tik. The counter has some ingredients on it, and a tray full of squares. More on that later.

Panel 2: A-K continues to stir as the ceiling tilts upwards with a creeeeeaaaaaak. All A-K does is glance idly at it.

Panel 3: A ludicrously large, thin, foxy snoot--of a scale to which A-K would classify on the larger end of bite-sized--appears, belonging to The Husband as they sniff the tray of squares. "CRACKERS?" The Husband asks, in dramatically large text that covers their hand gripping the top of the cabinets for balance. "Mmmhm," A-K replies off-handedly, still stirring.

Panel 4: The Husband laps up the entire tray of crackers with a MLEM. A-K has gone back to the stirring they've never stopped as if this isn't out of the ordinary for them. (It is not.)

Panel 5: The Husband leans over and gently kisses A-K on the top of their head with a MWAH and a little heart. A-K smiles broadly and finally stops stirring.

Good ol' Asípani-Kzinresh, the tiger-like alien with the fanned fin-like ears, curly hair, and blue glasses, is not only in masc mode but apparently their gender is "Padishah Emperor of the Known Universe" because they are dressed in this monochrome getup that absolutely FUCKS:

1. black double-breasted uniform where the plastron is held with two rows of pearl buttons, cutting in on the waist, and white insignia on the cuffs, naval style, over

2. black trousers with white bloodstripes, tucked into

3. shiny black leather calf-length riding boots;

4. white gloves

5. a satin black cape with white lining, pearl epaulets, from which hangs a device a bit like a mayoral jewel on a chain over their chest, and the cape's forward shoulders have dragonfly-themed heraldry in silver.

They're walking towards the viewer, looking solidly resolute, and a caption has their thoughts on being put into this fit: "Now THIS is more my speed."

Today on #Battletech #Mechposting: Yeah, I saw the "lore accurate" paint scheme for Sneede's Rifleman and was like "I could do that". Certainly was something a bit out of my usual.

A cobbled-together war robot that's only technically a Rifleman with a white-and-red bug like Phoenix Hawk head, a boxy missile-tube-filled Archer left torso done up in orange, black, and blue lozenge-stripes, a Rifleman center and right torso (orange to red fade and dark to light blue fade respectively), a desert tan and brown Warhammer gun tube right arm, and legs with more lozenge-stripes and speckled red on yellow-orange 'boots'. Pretty chaotic, all told.

When you've got an idea rattling in your head, like "wow, this Music League prompt makes me want to draw my OC as a 1970s *sploitation hero complete with movie poster" I guess you--meaning I--just have to do it. I don't want to admit how long it took me to figure out some of the effects.

It's Asípani-Kzinresh the tiger-like alien kzin again, with their curly hair, fin/fan-like ears, tufted rat-like tail, and blue glasses. This time they're in full femme mode, wearing a black elastic knee-length dress with elbow-length sleeves, a wide red belt with a large gold ring on the stomach, and a tan leather shoulder holster from which swings a pistol on one side and a magazine pouch on the other. A-K advances towards the viewer with sway to shoulders and hips as they have an M16A1 assault rifle, smoking from the barrel and empty magazine well, propped up on their shoulder and a magazine in their other hand. They've got one eyebrow raised as they smirk with a hint of teeth and their ears are fanned out.

Behind them, a line-drawing office tower burns from a blown-out corner, the fire haloing A-K's head. To the side are some more line-drawings of a crashed and flipped car, some uniformed bodies with discarded guns, and a masc A-K kicking another uniformed figure in half.

The tagline at the top of the 2:3 aspect ratio movie poster reads "harder than rock... they can't be scratched!" and is followed by the title DIAMOND TIGER, where "tiger" has been struck out with a red proofreader's swoosh and replaced with "kzin" in red cursive.

Asípani-Kzinresh is a tiger-like alien with curly hair, ears like fans or fins, and glasses. In this image they're happy and attentive, eyes wide and engaged, eyebrows raised, and their ears are splayed broadly and cupped forward. Their muzzle is curled up slightly in a closed-lipped smile.

Asípani-Kzinresh is a tiger-like alien with curly hair, ears like fans or fins, and glasses. In this image they're... well. Their eyes are extremely tense, lower lids half-raised with tight creases; their ears are folded back flat against their skull, and their upper and lower lips are parted to espose their upper gums and all their teeth, including a visibly tilted lower-right canine. The corners of their mouth curl upward, but the tension in the eyes and the unhinged furrow of their brow suggests that this kzin-grin is anything other than a friendly expression. Labels around the sketch indicate these as well as "once you see the fucked up lower canine, you goofed".

This is why kzinti never expose their teeth to others and why they at the very least flinch when others expose their teeth to them, such as when humans smile with parted lips.

The last time I wrote A-K having this expression, they almost beat a motherfucker to death with his own sniper rifle. They were prevented from doing so. This is a rage red-out expression.

As is required by felinid furry law, I invoke the Puma Sisters.

Classic mid-80s catgirls the Puma Sisters by Masamune Shirow. Two tanned catgirls with high-mounted ears and big 80s frizzy hair of slightly different colors, one more blonde and the other more redhead. They're dressed like classic mid-80s cyberpunks: shiny black leather unitards with boob windows, spiky pauldrons and vambraces, thigh-high vinyl stockings and work boots. Naturally they're both on impossibly sleek white motorcycles that look like they've got fighter-jet style speed brakes and inset guns, and they wield some serious hand artillery of their own.

They also exhibit that ultimate signifier of 1980s anime lostech: feminine noses. Yes, they actually have noses as opposed to their faces just coming to a point in some angles.

This particular subtype, the /E "Spoonhead", includes large sensor modules in its 'canards' and forgoes probe launch tubes for additional machine spaces and in-situ fabrication capability. It, via /Oxygastra/, also happens to hold the record for largest wearable propulsion unit (pictured). 3/8

Self-indulgent OC Space Fiction #Lore Drop: The RN-200 /Sphyrnidae/-class cutter is a common sight throughout the Scolopendran frontier thanks to two things: 1) modularity and 2) taking the volume available to a cutter and asking "sure, we have reactor, but what about second reactor?" 🧵1/8

Uh oh, what am I up to now... (Not any more suggestive than the models on packas of underwear at the clothes store but let's err on the side of caution).

A lineup of sketched anthropomorphic Asípani-Kzinresh (a digitigrade tiger-like alien with a curly mullet-like mane and fan-like webbed ears sticking out the sides of their head and a long, hairless, rat-like tail) figures, ranging from a hulking Astartes-proportioned "hypertosh"on the left through masculine "kzintosh", 'both' nonbinary "kzinresh' (with all the masculine and feminine accoutrements including a small tuft on the end of their tail; including side and rear views), feminine "kzinresh" (with a bigger tuft, slightly narrower shoulders, and a narrower waist), to a slinky and moderately voluptuous "hyperresh" on the far right. Each type is labeled with a number range in a "2d6" row which I'm not going to list because I've decided in the shower that it's wrong. All the naughty bits are covered in black briefs and, as necessary, a loose strapped black top-type thing.
