After many years of having it on my bucket list, I finally started the Great Pendragon Campaign. @stillisgaming.bsky.social is GMing and we started our first session doing character creation, being knighted, and going on our first excursion. seannittner.com/the-great-pe...
Another wonderful @goplaynw.bsky.social has passed. I look forward to 2027. My goal to to help train up some new Donut MCs (Hosts). If you're planning to go and thinking of volunteering next year, lemme know!
We skipped the last slot for a lovely dinner with friends in Capitol Hill. What a perfect way to end the con.
Sunday morning I ran my last donut and decided to do...nothing. I was still a bit sleepy and took the time to just catch up with other lovely folks. @ndpdesign.com introduced me to Avant Carde, a quick-ish deck builder about creating gallery exabits and finding patrons. Slick design.
Mo, Jerry O and I decided to get in a game together in the evening Donut. We got into Trokia! which is a psychedelic fantasy romp in the vein of Into the Odd. I wish I was more alert for the game, but fatigue set in and I had to bow out before the end. Mo's drawings! seannittner.com/troika-7-25-...
Before the evening slot I checked out the Zine Zone, which is an incredible DIY table full of craft supplies and a printer for folks o make there own zines. I played the Arnold Schwarzenegger character generator and got Joe Cane, Geneticist Barbarian. Spot on!
Saturday afternoon slot I ran S&B again. I ran Tomb of the Twins but ran out of pregen characters so we grabbed an extra from Curse of Storms. It worked great and i think one of the characters is the descendant of a Necromancer King!! seannittner.com/youngest-of-...
Saturday morning I hosted a donut and ran a scheduled game of Spell & Blade, this time running Stras’s adventure Tomb of the Twins. The stopped one problem and found another. “That tree must die“ was a great line in the game! seannittner.com/go-play-tomb...
We had dinner with Ross and Mo at The Coupe and Flute, a champagne bar with great cocktails and apps. They made a delightful Paper Plane.
Friday afternoon I ran Curse of Storms, my Mkeshi adventure for Spell & Blade. The oathbound adventurers sought a lost temple to cure one of their companions of the Drowning Curse. Them made friends, lost a treasured whistle, and set free an undead prince! Yay! seannittner.com/go-play-curs...
Arrival in SeaTac was just as expected. We had to wake up way too fucking early (4am) and arrived still a bit foggy. We had a wonderful breakfast with @rosscowman.bsky.social and @mogolden.bsky.social. The best hosts!
Tonight at 5:30 PM Pacific (ish), @juddthelibrarian.bsky.social and I are returning to Doskvol as Crown tries to infiltrate the Spirit Wardens at the behest of the Unseen. She's also got ties to the head of the Bluecoats and the Blackcoats. What could go wrong? www.twitch.tv/actualplay
4. Once you know everyone's interest and availability do a check to make sure you have enough games. Ask folks to offer more as needed. Board games and activities can help fill gaps. 5. Build a schedule as best you can. Your friends will understand if it’s not perfect. They can shuffle around.
3. Once potential games are listed, ask folks to indicate what games they are interested in (I just make a column where peeps add their name).
Rarely does writing AP reports give me such satisfaction as when I can capture an entire campaign. We played 26 nine-hour sessions of Mask of Nyarlathotep to bring this epic adventure to its conclusion. Thank you @stillisgaming.bsky.social for running an amazing game. seannittner.com/tag/masks-of...
What does a con who is fresh out of Ironhook do when she finds her old crew has scatted to the winds while she put away? Join @juddthelibrarian.bsky.social and I to find out in Crown of Doskvol. Starting in at 7PM-ish. www.twitch.tv/actualplay
Hell and yeah. It's been three years since I've played Blades (eight since I've played with @juddlegum.bsky.social) and we just picked it up like we played yesterday. Including integrating Deep Cuts setting and system changes.
And here's how it went. FUCKING METAL. seannittner.com/deeper-in-th... If you're curious about playing Metal Showcase 11PM yourself, there's a link to the Lulu page in the AP report.
Challenge accepted. Even more impressive, we won the Metal Showcase 11PM! Thank you @jmstar.bsky.social for making a solo game so metal it can be played by four 🤘
Sifting through a ton of records from the 70s and 80s, including the Dr. Pepper album that is just a bunch of commercials and the Jane Fonda workout album, which is utterly impossible to follow what she’s doing. People make some wild shit.
