Hey @countbinface.bsky.social, what’s your response to this then? Surely Reform have you (me and most of the rest) backed into a corner with their intellectual might?
I’ve been wondering about this and our cats do that. Spats will loom over Mia and lick her until she hisses or swipes at him. He sits back with a “what?” Look on his face. She’s not innocent either. A pair of proper headbangers.
Table showing prices bid per energy source (again from Google Gemini).
A couple of views. 1. We have to rush to Net Zero because it's the right thing to do. Period. 2. Developing North Sea fossil fuels will get us using more gas. Gas is fungible on the markets and our production won't reduce its cost. Gas keeps UK electricity expensive. Table from Google Gemini.
Gorgeous, where’s that? My son went to the fjords this weekend, arriving at his cabin at 1am. Not in the arctic but sent us this beautiful photo with light just under the horizon.
Found a delightful cafe for brunch with cute spelling that’s oddly appropriate. 🐟⚓️
For all eager politics students an essay. “Two people are in the news for receiving $/£5mln from a crypto crudmerchant. Discuss.”
I’m not unused to this market either. Did they get GuffGPT, or maybe a recent media studies graduate to write their copy?
Oof you're right. I'm surprised and a bit disappointed. Even based on borrowing cost we're not the worst (albeit not looking good.
This hotel has been on my bucket list for nearly 30 years. I found them because I bought a CD (remember them?) of music they curated.
It’s both Fathers’ Day and my parents’ 70th wedding anniversary. Neither are here any more, but both of these wonderful people will always be with me.
I was a bit surprised, however this result is marginal. I basically fit Centrist Dad, with near equal alignment to centre left and right. Some questions lack context and answers are specific to my being in the UK. That System Trust outcome is utterly UK specific.
This is the start of this thread. There was no need to bring the BoD into it. And no Jews don’t need to be challenged. Why should we be? We’re diverse. No organisation represents me (I get to decide that), but loads of people have decided on equivalence of Jews and BoD or other orgs.
I think I have Dementia. Looking at this high quality advert on Politico I only see numbers. I’m done for. Seriously, my Mum recently passed away from this tragic disease. These predatory ads really get my goat.
Shouldn’t they get a Pulitzer or something just for this photo? static01.nyt.com/images/2026/...

Reported by @javierblas.bsky.social TL;DR this looks to me like major financial institutions hedging against economic meltdown. Not predicting that it will happen, just hedging against its potential, leading them to drop a load of $$$ on expensive options as insurance. 🧵1
Annoyingly #GitHub are about to start training on your CoPilot interactions from April 24. This is really bad for commercial software development. Go and turn it off.
