Hi @cllrcmiller.bsky.social drivers still ignoring the one way on a busy Cockburn St with pedestrians. The terrorist barriers at top were facing the other way this morning but turned around now. it suggests organisers are expecting traffic up the road past lots of pedestrians (which seems madness!)

You should definitely visit Dune on Queensferry High Street but now pedestrian protection has been removed forever - as part of a "new" design, you should also be prepared to hardly any space on the pavement and motor vehicles driving right at you if you're cycling 🤯

Is the one way on Cockburn Street just sacked off for the festival? Loads of drivers ignoring no entry ant bottom and turning at top of street at the terrorist barriers. Surely with high numbers of pedestrians the terrorist barriers should be at the bottom and not the top?! @cllrcmiller.bsky.social

Presumably as Edinburgh Council says we don’t need bus stops on South Bridge -as they’ve not been for so long, that we’re going to get wider pavements on North Bridge due to the long standing works there?!

i moved a barrier to make a small gap this morning. Barrier has been put back to make impassible. Appears to be concerted effort to close the street completely to bikes using the barriers. Meanwhile some cyclists now bumping up busy pavements to circumvent 🤔

Hi Claire. I know you’ve just raised it but the road was completely inaccessible this morning. If the planters are put in the correct place then barriers shouldn't even need to be there. (If we say extinction rebellion blocked a road, will they clear them it minutes?!)

So after over a thousand cyclists rode down the Royal Mile asking for amongst other things, cycling to be given greater priority. The Royal Mile is pretty much inaccessible to bikes. Is this a cycle route or not @stephenjenkinson.bsky.social @cllrcmiller.bsky.social @chasbooth.bsky.social

Good job Edinburgh council removed that extra pedestrian space a few years ago so hundreds of pedestrians could be squeezed on tiny pavements and 4 lanes of road kept for free parking, empty roads and wasted central reservation space for cars 🤯

2nd time in 2 day I’ve been on a dangerously overcrowded Scotrail train. Passangers left on the platforms too. Unacceptable to have a railway in this state in 2026. Still at least we’re still dualing the A9 🤯😡

Queensferry active travel 🚴‍♂️🚶 New shared path on NCR1 & 76 to/from Forth Road Bridge now finished. Still not that wide but better than before. The protected bike lane at Newhailes Rd to/from Hawes car park/High Street is nearly done. It's good quality albeit short @spokes.org.uk @edi.bike

Transport Scotland are resurfacing the shared path at the Echline slip road to/from Forth Road Bridge. Doesn’t look like any widening happening though. To 13/02. Step free diversions in place

New bike lane between Queensferry High Street and the Hawes Car Park is finally taking shape. When the rest of the project is completed the Hight Street is going to be a shared space which is obviously the exact design needed to combat the current carmageddon 🤯

I'm sure the shared space between motor vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists the Council have planned for Queensferry High Street will be safe and with no issue. Also, here's a massive concrete bollard having just been knocked over by a driver at the end of Queensferry High Street.

The worst photo on the world but it's supposed to show the protected bike lane ending early on a blind corner at Potterow heading towards Bristo Square. Resurfacing of the Bristo square bus stop all the week but cyclists are expected to rejoin and a difficult section. Caution advised #Edtravcyc

Move the cyclist between the 2 cars in the background and you can see a fundamental flaw The Council ignored. It doesn't change the fundamental design of the street and you STILL risk being doored/or close passed. Only confident/experienced cyclists will use this @stephenjenkinson.bsky.social
