What does the EHRC code do, and not do? www.transsolidarityalliance.com/post/ehrc-co...
EDM 240, against the EHRC’s harmful guidance, has reached 164 signatures including dozens of Labour MPs. Hear from some of them here: www.itv.com/news/2026-07...
🆕 Alongside colleagues, we have written to the Prime Minister setting out the damage he is doing to our community. We have made clear that this is a political choice. The UK must pick another path, and the responsibility here lies with government. Read more: transactual.org.uk/blog/2026/06...
Keep the pressure up: equalrecognition.eaction.org.uk/rejectthecode
And thank you to all MPs who have spoken to us about the Code of Practice in the last week. Every signature, every spoken contribution in the chamber, every letter to ministers, every act of resistance matters to keep pressure up to fix this mess.
Worth noting, if your MP hasn't signed it already - that doesn't mean they won't. These are just very early signatories. It's too early to judge who will and will not choose to sign, but not too early to urge them to do so: equalrecognition.eaction.org.uk/rejectthecode
This is a political choice. By @fruitypy.bsky.social today. Please share widely for those who don’t understand the scale of the problem ❤️ www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Yeesssss! There will be a briefing ahead of time + when we did one last year we had these and plan to do similar + maybe a takeaway for the MP as last year the MPs kept nicking them for their use so people were left without souvenirs 😢
This is not equality. www.theguardian.com/world/2026/m...
just for anyone who wants push alerts with the detail when it's available, this is the icon:
This CoP is likely submitted as an 'unnumbered act paper', and is laid under the terms of Section 14 of the Equality Act 2006. Act papers like this can only be formally laid while Parliament sits. The Act requires it to be subject to the same 40 day period of 'scrutiny' (people get to see it) as...
📑 What does that mean in detail? It’s clear that the FWS judgment has significantly damaged trans people’s rights, despite claims to the contrary. There are, however, differing interpretations and this will make a significant difference in everyday life. We will be watching closely.
➡️ The Minister for Women and Equalities has again said she plans to lay new EHRC guidance this week, in a media appearance. A reminder of how organisations like us, @transactualuk.bsky.social and @scottishtrans.bsky.social will be judging any new Code of Practice:
It is also cited as a big reason for defecting from Labour to the SNP in the Scottish elections by 9% of respondents 🏴 and by 8% of all Labour > Left defectors in Wales 🏴. Across 🏴 Lab > left defectors, collapsing both those going Green & Lib Dem - it's cited as a top reason by 12% of these voters.
📊 NEW: Among 🏴 Green voters overall and Labour > Green defectors, more people cite support for trans and other minority rights as a major reason than Palestine, housing or the cost of living. Trans rights issues don't decide elections, but they remain a high saliency issue for progressive voters.
Anti-rights movements won't stop with trans people. The Alliance Defending Freedom campaign against abortion rights, gay marriage, and anti-discrimination laws. Now they are openly backing a case against Parkrun for including trans participants. www.independent.co.uk/sport/great-...
Proud to have added our name to this vital manifesto by @tgeuorg.bsky.social and others tgeu.org/transfeminism/
🚨 Trans kids need our help. We only have until Wednesday to make our voices heard on proposed changes to ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ statutory guidance. We are really worried about what the government has proposed. Will you take action? www.theproudtrust.org/about-us/blo...
One year ago today. Our small, skilled, volunteer team hasn’t stopped since the FWS judgment, and we need your help. Will you support our work? www.zeffy.com/en-GB/donati... Most of what we do is behind the scenes, but here’s how we have used your funding so far:
🚨 Now is not the time to give up and retreat. Please write to your MP in our joint campaign with TransActual to protect trans workers actionnetwork.org/letters/fix-... We need to build a fighting fund for what comes next. Will you help us fight for a better future? www.zeffy.com/en-GB/donati...
🏛️ We all know what new guidance needs to do for it to improve this mess. This is our 3 point test for a new Code of Practice, if these basic needs can't be fulfilled by our Equality Act - it will no longer be worth of the name. We will keep pushing until we have equality. But we need your help ➡️
⚖️ One year ago, the Supreme Court promised us our rights were still protected. 🟰 Since then - our lives have become less free, less safe and less equal. Where is the dignity and respect in this? 📝 It's going to take more than minor tweaks to make a difference here. What happens now? ➡️
Reminder: trans kids need our help. 📚 The government’s proposed changes to ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ would fail trans pupils. 🏫 The draft safeguarding guidance would turn teachers into gender cops. ⏰ Act now, there’s not long left. www.theproudtrust.org/about-us/blo...
It should always be a personal choice. However, trans people are losing autonomy over their visibility. Forcibly outed in the workplace. Forbidden from coming out in our schools. Help us fight back. #TDoV
We have partnered with @transactualuk.bsky.social to fix these decades old regulations. They are no longer fit for purpose, are creating huge harm to trans+ workers and posing unworkable operational challenges for employers. We need your help. Act now: actionnetwork.org/letters/fix-...
We are facing a workers' rights crisis for our community, and we need your help. Outdated workplace regulations, last updated in the early 90s, are now being interpreted as requiring the exclusion and outing of trans+ people in the workplace. actionnetwork.org/letters/fix-...
You can read our response to this awful news here: www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home...
We have been featured on the list before for our community work with Trans Secret Santa UK, and it’s lovely to be back for 2026 with a focus on our political advocacy work 💪 www.bigissue.com/news/activis...
Our take on the judgment: incoherent, unworkable and needs to be fixed or we face a workers rights crisis. We will be campaigning hard to fix this mess, watch this space.
Thank you to all MPs and staff who joined us in Parliament yesterday to hear about the need to protect inclusion. Have you read the letter we've sent with a coalition of nearly 150 feminist and LGBTQ+ organisations, and will you write your own? transsolidarityalliance.com/protectinclusion
