I still think Tumblr is the best social media.
There have been a flurry of decisions and posts from people who write/work for @economist.com , both in personal name and in the name of the publication, that have really made me question if these are ideas I want to keep supporting. No more. After 16 years, subscription cancelled.
It's been the fundamental fault in all of the UK debate about Brexit and the relationship with the EU. The flexibility that you're used to in UK constitutional rituals doesn't work in codified cultures. It's the same misunderstanding that led to this
The explosion looks sizeable, the port of Constanta, one of Europe's most important, is being evacuated.
This was making the rounds on the same day reports came out that GLP-1 seems to be linked to risk reduction in some cancer progressions. No different than antivaxx crackpots, but with added racial weaponisation for a Bsky audience.
“People voted Lab for all kind of reasons, including people who didn’t want Starmer to be PM. BUT EVERYONE WHO VOTED LAB VOTED FOR STARMER TO BE PM” Consistency is key.
Further proof that Starmer stans now are indistinguishable from Corbynites and Trumpists. Starmer's "mandate" to be PM is unquestionable, given by the people, can't be challenged. Their political preference is not a preference, but a reality. Words have meaning only if they confirm their preferences
These are the comments in question. These are the people @zackpolanski.bsky.social follows, apparently to encourage their activism. So it’s ok if you call for the death of your political opponents, as long as they’re Zionists.
And before you come and claim I’m Labour too, here are the posters I felt I had to take down today because my Jewish colleague was coming to visit and didn’t feel like having to explain that not all Greens are like that
If this is the most explicit example you can find I’ll have to say you made it up.
Within all the doom and gloom, I just want to point out how amazingly well the UK has transitioned it's energy production.
I say this with respect, disabled people make a small part of the electorate while the general electorate want to make it harder for people to qualify for disability benefits. Before claiming disability cuts affect trust in politics, maybe check what the electorate wants.
No, it doesn’t. Not my screenshot but had this exact conversation with a friend and he showed me this.
He's blocked me, but here is the post. This is a flat out lie. And it's been flagged to him before but he doubled down with more posts on this.
I wrote the below as a response to someone else and I think it fits here. The issues I see are not about Polanski or the party themselves, but there is a certain profile of supporters that will actively damage the party's chances to build a coalition that can give them enough power to enact policy
He’s made similar comments in other threads. Unfortunately some of them get further amplified by other accounts describing themselves as socialist.
When your aim is a majority but your opposition is so bad at campaigning that you accidentally get 3/4 of the seats.
No they don’t. 42% of the electorate don’t know him. And of those who know him, it splits 50/50. This impression that’s he’s wildly popular nationally is not true. He hasn’t had to defend national policies in a while and the Right media has not gunned from him and he is only on a net zero.
This is true to an extent. He currently has a net 0 rating. But he’s also unknown to more than 40% of the electorate. Being on the side and criticizing is easy, once in power I have no doubt he’d crater like Starmer did.
This was just dropped in the Reuters interview with no commentary www.reuters.com/world/us/fiv...
To be clear, the paper does not say what you are suggesting it says. You really shouldn’t let the Daily Mail anchor your biases.
