Campaigning to reverse the ever worsening cycle provision in Eastbourne. We want to make it easier and safer for anyone to get around Eastbourne by bicycle.
Good feedback from tourists using App Bike - here at Sovereign Harbour
Negative feelings, from some residents, towards legal cyclists but based on illegal 'cycles' and e-scooters. *The only local legal e-scooters on the highway are in Brighton rental scheme *Across other councils clampdowns on souped up e-bikes, using throttles & without pedals
We always need to be clear how much more dangerous illegal 'e-bikes' 🏍️ are than legal ones🚴♂️
Lottbridge Drove one of the busiest shared paths in #Eastbourne. If you want it cut back to its original size then contact live.eastsussexhighways.com/report-probl...
One of Bespoke's high priority 'off road' links is from Sainsbury (Hampden Pk) to Tutts Barn. AI image taken from under the Cross Levels Way flyover. Partly built 20 years ago but currently overgrown
Let's get Edwards Rd ( Bannatyne's ) 'cut back' to the original size. It has been reported to @eastsussexcc.bsky.social many times
Up and coming cycle route by @eastsussexcc.bsky.social along Ashford Road. 2/3rds on busy road with many junctions. Rest on a shared path. Who will use it ?
15th May the French (80+ vehicles ) are cycling from Newhaven to Battle , some on their solar powered cycles
The Normans are coming... on May 15th... but this time on solar powered cycles
The #Sheffield cycle hoops on Terminus Road, put in by @eastsussexcc.bsky.social and Eastbourne BC, are nearly all gone (?damaged) . People are going back to using the railings that are solid and last >20 years.
Great local routes in Winter. Well done to @sustrans.bsky.social @nationalhighways.bsky.social @forestryengland.bsky.social
A well deserved OBE for #Bespoke's @scarlettmcnally.bsky.social and a reminder of her often quoted aomrc.org.uk/wp-content/u...
For those locals, who have not seen LTN 1/20 compliant cycling infrastructure, here is your chance at Hindsland, between Willingdon and Polegate on A2270. A 3.5m wide shared path🚶🚴🧑🦼built by the developers
What discourages women 🚴asks @cyclinguk.bsky.social ? It is no surprise for Eastbourne. It's traffic and poor routes
Another video from tonight’s Eastbourne Glow Ride. The rain didn’t stop us riding in support of safer streets and a future where women and everyone can ride with confidence and freedom. #RightToGlow #MyRideOurRight
The rain didn’t dampen our spirits in #Eastbourne at tonight’s Glow Ride. Along with other groups across the country we lit up the night to call for safer streets, better cycling infrastructure, and a future where women and everyone can ride with freedom and confidence. #RightToGlow #MyRideOurRight
Thank you to everyone, including Rebecca from @cyclinguk.bsky.social, who braved the rain, and took the time to ride with us tonight on the Eastbourne Glow Ride. We lit up the night with our #RightToGlow, calling for safer cycling for everyone. Because when women can ride freely, we all can.
Of all the Sheffield stands installed by @eastsussexcc.bsky.social on Terminus Road #Eastbourne ( Along the bus lane) only 5 now remain. You can still see where the old fixings were. Now people chain to other surfaces where they can
Dig out your all your cycle / fairy lights and come and join us on 22nd Oct
Request to increase the @eastsussexcc.bsky.social ATE ( Active Travel Score) to 2. However in terms of delivery they think they are only a 1. For cycling ( not walking) most cyclists would score them as 0. (Nobody in UK currently that low) democracy.eastsussex.gov.uk/documents/s7...
Good piece of shared path on A271, near Boship roundabout, by @eastsussexcc.bsky.social and @wealdendc.bsky.social BUT it is only a 50m long feeder to a new estate they are building. Nothing before or after and heavy traffic along the whole road
Now its Autumn some of the tracks on South Downs @southdownsnp.bsky.social are not as good. But all year round you can still 🚴🚵♀️ in Friston Forest and Abbots Wood ( not quite in National Park) .
The @eastsussexcc.bsky.social approach to stop '🐀 running' in Willingdon alongside the developments at Hindsland ( who paid the S106) & Mornings Mill . '20's plenty' would have been good but instead a patchwork of build outs that force 🚴 to negotiate space as they move over each time
