And, this picture kind of sums up my takeaway from the article and of my approach to gardening in suburbia. (Native) cardinals nesting in a (non-native) clematis, along a concrete sidewalk, about 10 feet from the back of my brick house. This was an excellent place to put a nest: protected and shady!

This plant has appeared in my garden for the first time and is apparently known as moth mullein. I think it is really beautiful, but the internet says it is considered invasive in some places. Anyone have personal experience with it?

I went into the new James SA Corey books, The Captive's War trilogy, with a little fear because I really wanted to like them, but thinking, "how can they possibly follow The Expanse?" Throughout Book 1, I admit that I was always asking myself, "can I like this...?"
