This is…more so the raw. It’s structured this way against conventional poem writing because I wanted people to experience this as I do, waking to Papaoutai playing in the mind, letting the emotions and core pain ebb boil and flow

Fragmented lines describing the father’s face fading “into white… Blurry and horned,” noting that apologies are acknowledged by others but not him, and calling the speaker a “cash cow or burden.” The surreal image of a face dissolving into whiteness captures emotional erasure and the speaker’s sense of being reduced to utility rather than personhood.

Lines expressing a wish the father had not attended graduation so absence would be simpler, a wish that child support had extended to the speaker, and an unfinished line about the father marrying.

These practical grievances—missed milestones and withheld support—anchor the poem’s emotional claims in concrete losses that compound the speaker’s abandonment.

Short closing lines that repeat the idea of an unfillable void, the speaker’s optimism exposed as naïveté, and the final whispered lines “A life… For a life.” ending with silence.

The echoing, elliptical ending leaves the reader in the same exhausted space as the speaker—not triumphant but resolute—suggesting that survival requires letting go even when the wound remains.

I share my deeply personal journey of confronting the painful absence and emotional neglect of my father. I talk about the void he left in my life, the favoritism shown to his other children, and the repeated rejection I've experienced.

Besides the oven racks, you've developed a pattern of failing to report maintenance issues and then you use self-help and ask for reimbursement. HUI relies on tenants to report maintenance issues so our maintenance team can respond accordingly. It is my understanding that you purchased the wrong size oven racks.
Ultimately, HUI purchased the correct size oven racks. On account of that, you will not be reimbursed.

I would like to address the claims regarding a "pattern of failing to report maintenance issues" and the denial of reimbursement.
There are several crucial points to consider:
1. Policy Clarification: The written-only policy was established to minimize misunderstandings. At its inception, there was no clarification that maintenance issues were excluded from this protocol. If this policy did not apply to maintenance, it should have been specified in our agreement.
2. Reporting History: I have consistently followed the written-only protocol. My email records with you and the previous property manager, Tiffany Lamin, from January 2025 onward, show multiple reports regarding mold, the ceiling, flooring, and the phone. These issues were often ignored or deprioritized. Self-help only occurred after HUl failed to respond to these written reports for months.
Regarding the oven racks, HUI replaced only one rack. I request either the replacement of the second rack or reimbursement for half the cost of the racks I purchased.
3. Response Delays: The delays in reporting were often a direct result of HUl's own delayed responses. Despite reports from myself, Said, and Melissa, issues took months to resolve.
