When Marsha got a bunch of teeth taken out, the vet was a little concerned she didn't eat much at the office. Got her home and she immediately housed half a can of wet food. She's recovered well :)

Some sort of creature. A critter if you will. No one knows what kind. Small, white, big pointy ears and a pink snoot. Resting said snoot comfortable on a pillow.

I know they don't look impressive. But this is really thin wall tubing and I have a very cheap flux core welder. Managing to not just blow clean through the tube every time is a huge step up for me.

A piece of thin walled half inch tube with three to four inches of spotty welds going up the side. They are not pretty.

The same tube after the welds are ground down. It's more or less continuous with a few pin holes. It's just a tent pole, it's fine.

Dealing with long stock means offsetting your jointer like the deck of an aircraft carrier.

A long thin piece of lumber runs off the table of a small 6" jointer. The whole setup is set about 15 degrees to the left to avoid the table saw on one side and mitre saw on the other.
An ancient shopvac sits below, gamely trying to manage the dust.

Went to a model train show with my dad today. Neither of us have ever been. So many layouts, but I found this module really charming.

A dual H-O scale railway with a green Canadian National diesel locomotive hitched up red open top bulk cars. It is modelled as a small inlet with a fishing village. The background board continues the appearance of the rocky shore going out to sea.

I've found my new favourite pizza dough recipe. If I get my shit together enough to make it the night before and rise in the fridge, it comes out so good.

Might've started a bit late this year, but we have our first bottles of maple syrup in the fridge.

A boiling pot of maple sap on an electric stove. After boiling off most of the water on a burner outside, I bring it inside to finish.

Two clear swing top bottles filled with golden brown maple syrup. One is full to the shoulder and the other about one third, about 700ml total. The result of boiling nearly 30L of sap.

New mechanic milestone reached. Hail Mary tool modification. It...sort of worked. The important thing is, the check engine light is off again. This car will die when I say it can.
