I am Professor Pyg’s biggest fan. Reading @davewielgosz.bsky.social’s work on the character is only comparable to Morrison. No one has pushed Pyg into something grotesquely stand out like Dave has. With art by Fran Mariscal, Pyg Pen in this years Detective Comics Annual is the definitive Pyg story.
Working on something currently, and I want to know: What is your favorite Wolverine story?
I’ve been writing about comics for years. Last year, I decided I have to do the thing to back up that I can talk about the subject matter with real learned experience. So I worked with my friend and Eisner nominated Joshua Hixson to bring an idea to life. Here’s my first comic.
I've been sitting with "A Mischief of Magpies" for a bit. It's a comic that embraces the medium to new degrees to tell a harrowing real story. It's beautiful, poignant, and a comic that hits me on such a deep personal level that it's hard to finish @sispurrier.bsky.social @matiasbergara.bsky.social
Even if @christophcondon.bsky.social is a Jersey boy, he does some of the most incredible sun-drenched noir horror that I have read. Charlie Adlard's art for this series invokes fear even in the scorching sun. There's so much bubbling under the surface of this book with a cryptid at its heart.
Absolute Green Arrow is everything that it has been pitched as and more. It instantly became my favorite #1 of the Absolute line with some brutal violence and having a lot to say about the state of things. @pornsak.bsky.social and @rafaelalbuquerque.bsky.social hit it right between the eyes.
So Absolute Scarecrow has his dogs out, right? He’s the master of fear but do you think he fears foot fetishists at the level of Tarantino and my buddy Zee? Or does he ,too, have a foot fetish and that’s why he’s not wearing shoes?
How do I convince @tylerboss.bsky.social and Dylan Burnett to put me in this?
As we get @gatecrashers.bsky.social back to full flying speed, I wanted to put out the call that if you’ve ever wanted to write about things you love (comics, tv, movies, games, tech, and literally anything) and have been too afraid to try then reach out. I will help you learn.
It's funny, punchy, and just does everything right. I have not felt this excited to talk about a book since The Plot which is my all time favorite book. This is one you need to watch, pre-order, and devour. Also a @artofnickrobles.bsky.social variant cover is like the seal of a book of the year.
My entire critical writing career has been heavily rooted in horror comics which got me into writing. I would go so far as to say I am one of the top experts in the space. So please take it to heart when I say that this comic is a 10/10 debut.
I was not ready for "Did You Hear About Mimi Green?" created by @joshcornillon.bsky.social, @connorgoldsmith.bsky.social, and Ariana Maher. This is a book I can point to and say, "This is why I love horror." It feels like fresh air hitting my lungs after years buried under the viscera of the genre.
Born Again Season 2 brings the brutality, heroism, and incredible performances that you deserve from Daredevil. Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox conquer the screen once again. They bring a chemistry as antagonists that no other superhero adaptation has come close to. #Daredevil
I have so many thoughts about the art, the coloring, and the characters that I won't capture in a thread here. But if you are looking for a horror comic that is unlike anything else, this is for you. I am blown away by this book.
Last night, I read Everything Dead & Dying from @tatebrombal.bsky.social and @thatjacobphillips.bsky.social start to finish. While I gather my thoughts to write something, I can say it's the single best zombie comic I have ever read. It is painful, harrowing, and filled with love.
To get caught using AI to write a news announcement for a Vampirella book is wild. Like clearly it’s been used before with that “clickbait headline” bit.
The other day I posted about getting into the Hulk this year and becoming his size. I wasn’t kidding. Started reading Peter David’s run and a weightlifting program from Arnold Schwarzenegger.
