It's A-Level results day! This is a bit of a cliche but young people are the future: schools & colleges are doing amazing work to make sure that future is 'bright' The Green Party has long supported the lowering of the voting age to 16, because we know young people are vitally important to the UK
Grass is turning yellow in parks & on streets across Darlington. This heatwave is yet another reminder of how vulnerable the UK is to extreme temperatures - even the colour green is draining out of our green spaces. Join us today, to protect Darlington's natural environment. join.greenparty.org.uk

Do you sometimes feel like voting doesn't make a difference? Remembering that people fought for the right to vote can help to put things in perspective. Jess came to speak at our event, Greens Rising: Fresh Perspectives back in June, and shared her story! join.greenparty.org.uk
Join us for a lovely social litter pick in Bushel Hill Park, meeting in the carpark at 10am on Saturday 8th August. Equipment will be provided but if you have your own please bring it along. Meet local greens and improve the area for people and planet.

We went to Warrens in Newton Aycliffe - and learned how they are helping to transform food waste into electricity! This means savings for the council (£300,000 a year!), a reduction in CO2 emissions, and more fertiliser to grow more food. How are you finding the new food waste recycling system?
Today is the International Day of Hope! The UN declared July 12th the annual International Day of Hope as "a reminder that even in difficult times, hope remains a transformative force. It can bridge divides, drive progress, and uplift the human spirit.
would boycott it because of this political showboating. The decision to cancel the event was entirely out of the Green Party's control. We love that the other political parties think that we have that much reach and look forward to next May to make it a reality.

Passivhaus Schools are built to stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. They even produce more electricity than they consume - helping with school budgets. The Green Party will invest in public buildings that cut bills, cut pollution and are resilient in an unstable climate.
🥵 Heatwave School Closures 🥵 🌡️Children and teachers shouldn't have to endure sweltering conditions at school. 🌡️Head teachers shouldn’t have to face the decision to close schools to protect children and staff. Investing in a resilient country means we won't face such risks in the future.

Here we go again. The super-rich will keep burning fossil fuels unless we stop them. Reform won't stop them: they're funded by the fossil fuel industry. 92 percent of Reform UK Ltd.'s donations have come from oil and gas. It's time for climate action. #TaxTheRich #heatwaveuk #PeopleAndPlanet

Look out for Labour politicians claiming motion sickness medication on expenses. To be honest, the number of U-turns Keir Starmer has done in recent months is making us all feel a bit sick.
People are joining because they want to take the fight to Reform. Thousands are signing up to be part of the team who make hope normal again. join.greenparty.org.uk
Our street surgeries are as popular today as when we started them six years ago. People say how they are glad that they have Green Party councillors that look after them, listen and respond to their concerns.
