iOS 27 is finally out via public beta! I wrote on @verge about how much Siri has been impressing me, but why Apple needs to court developers (looking mostly @google) to truly make it work this time. For real on god. www.theverge.com/e/964714 h/t @matthewcassinelli.bsky.social for the interview!
My friend @panomicron made the first native M-Mount Anamorphic lens and I just got my copy. Little quick test but holy bananas I am so excited to play with this
I know Apple probably made notifications come in and out from the left like this in iOS 27 because of the new centered Siri touch target, but I really hope they change it before public release. It’s very awkward.
Here's what the floating Siri Orb looks like in VisionOS 27. It even casts its own environmental lighting!
Difficult to describe how amazing it is to work inside my own Panorama environments in the Vision Pro. What an update ❤️🔥
2 weeks ago I played Melee with @riley.social for practically the first time since my 24/7 college days and I still have a loose skin patch on my thumb from the GameCube thumb stick
Just got given these custom lil’ Finder Guy 3D prints and they’re so cute 🥺 Thank you kindly whoever you were
HOLY SHIT. Apple just added spatial rendering of Panoramas AND you can now use your own panoramas as spatial scenes for Vision Pro!!!! My panorama wallpaper packs are gonna be so freakin cool now. Davidimel.com/store
Regretful to say I am transitioning from AirMaxxing to Pro Max-ing for WWDC week to test new potential camera features. Trying Whoop to get a good sense of the market / competition Keeping on my Fitbit Air because I’m on a streak with friends Still wearing an Apple Watch for new software week
With respect to Google, the entire reason people are flocking to old digicams over their phones is because HDR does not equal good. Not everything needs to be a mid-tone. Contrast gives an image pop. I feel like I’ve been taking crazy pills since the iPhone 7
At ATmosphereCon @jay.bsky.team and @pfrazee.com just announced a new app called Attie, an agentic social feed builder that will automatically build a feed for you on ATProto with natural language.
Update from the ”We’re not authoritarians” crowd: www.axios.com/2026/02/27/a... A supply chain risk for not building autonomous weapons and mass U.S. surveillance systems RIGHT NOW. Give me a break.
People have been asking for a new set of panoramic wallpaper packs, so I've updated my store with 2 new image sets from this year, plus a set of 6x24 included with the mega pack. davidimel.com/store
Here's my review of the Nikon ZR I did for @theverge.com. Even if R3D NE isn't quite what you get from a real RED, the ZR gets damn close, with a few benefits you won't get from a RED body.
So many product launches today, but this is the one I’m most excited for
Have only scanned a little bit of my film from France so far, but I'm amped on these already.
iPhone 17 Pro standard camera processing vs RAW out of a third party app. I'm just saying, if this is what the sensor is getting, standard processing can be SO. MUCH. BETTER. Going to have to make a follow-up video to my Renaissance video.
