ADHD paralysis can be a PITA. This is the blackout shade I installed this morning in about 5m. It day in a corner of my bedroom for close to two years because I just couldn't find the time to install it. It immediately speed the temp in my bedroom 10+ degrees in the morning sun.

We’ll see if we can’t find a way to allow you better access to your heritage. If not—well, at least you’ll know. Now, if everyone will gather around and hold hands. Lady Feuerskala, if you will stand opposite me. You’ve done this before, so it’s not as important that for me to be touching you directly.”
Runo took the offered hands, Ossian in his left hand and Feuerskala in his right, as Alma did the same across from him. Ossian then bobbed his head in satisfaction before closing his eyes. The waters below them became choppy, pushing against the pilings supporting the quay. As the water crested over the stone, it became a mist wrapping around them. For a few brief seconds, it screened the Silver Cask and the rest of Fridhelgy from site.
Runo’s vision went black as if covered by a coal sack along with it feeling as if the floor dropped out from under him. The hands on either side of him tightened as if expecting him to yank away.

After speaking with Sandor, a servant showed Suvi to an unoccupied room in the chapterhouse. It stood along the back wall of the house. A comfortable-looking bed covered by a blue duvet stretched out from the left-hand wall with a cherry wood dresser opposite it. A small table next to the bed and an artistically carved wardrobe just inside the door completed the furnishings. Moving across the room to the window set in the far wall, Suvi peered past the thick, blue velvet curtains. It opened onto a small garden, providing a bit of separation for the house from the outer wall and the city street beyond. While it did not stop the noise of the traffic beyond the walls from reaching the room, the buffer dulled it enough to avoid being a complete distraction.
Turning away from the window, she suppressed a start of surprise at the servant still standing quietly in the doorway. Seeing her attention focused on him, he cleared his throat gently.
“Should I ask the other household staff to prepare a bath for you, Disciple Vaino?”
A sense of everything that happened since the last time Suvi had a proper bath rushed over here and, though she had washed it away before leaving the Kaldonnuk Forest, she could still feel Caspian’s blood on her hands. She nodded in response to the question.
“Yes, please. That would be wonderful.”

One of the better descriptions I've done of how the Profaners use magic.

“Perhaps, but we can discuss that at a more opportune time. Put your hands on my shoulders and get ready. There is a side door out of the chapterhouse used by servants. We’re going to head to it and get onto the street as quickly as possible. I’ve already hidden my saddlebags out there, so I won’t leave anything behind.”
Stefan nodded and placed his hands on her shoulders, gripping the leather of the tunic. Closing her eyes, Suvi pulled the proper channeling to mind, drawing from the living energy of the items left in the crates. Rot and blight raced over them, weeks of decomposition happening in seconds. Directing the energy through the channels in her mind, the air twisted and shimmered around them. Holding the spell tightly in her mind, she began mounting the stairs. Moving slowly enough to ensure Stefan did not lose contact, they reached the upper door.
Suvi paused a moment to listen. Hearing no one beyond it, she pushed the door open. Shifting around it to the right, she turned enough to push it back toward the open stairwell. She winced slightly as it clicked back into place. Knowing she would not be able to hold the spell indefinitely, she led the two of them down the hallway. Halfway down, she stopped, and Stefan bumped into her. She held her breath as a guard walked toward them. Glacially, Suvi moved to the side of the hallway and out of his path, thanking whatever gods might be listening that the guard appeared to be a Ruby Legionnaire and not a member of the Order who might sense the spell even if they could not see them.

Timikan’s contemplative hmmm vibrated through her body. His eyes moved over to Runo and then back to Suvi.
“That one—Runo. He seems to have no issues accepting you at face value. Perhaps you can build something on that foundation.”
She glanced in his direction as well, his lean form squatting down next to Alma as they talked. Dark hair fell across the side of his face as he fidgeted slightly, adjusting his sword belt. She laughed softly as she turned back to face Timikan.
“I understand that reaction the least, honestly. He and I almost killed each other north of Karu Koje when we ambushed them and another warrior on the road. He somehow managed to amplify and reflect a spell that should’ve killed him. Instead, it sent a shockwave across the road and knocked out me and Caspian.”
“What do you think changed?”

No penultimate, but @merriam-webster.com says 'ensuing' is a synonym.

Paiva’s eyes settled on Seraph Lysenko as Alekna gave the description, and they found more than a little amusement in watching the blood drain from the Emerald Seraph’s face at the graphic depiction of the fate of the Legion battalion. They assumed for someone used to the world of diplomacy and social elegance, the realities of battle carried a bit too much viscera for her.
Seraph Tyber spoke up during the ensuing silence, his voice skirting a line dangerously close to patronizing in Paiva’s opinion.
“And what do you plan to do about this, Kleré? After all, the Legions are your responsibility?”
Paiva watched the faintest of twitches at the hinge of Seraph Alekna’s jaw as if she bit back the first comment she wanted to make.
“The answer to that question is two-fold, Artas,” she said with a carefully controlled lack of emotion in her voice. “For the first part, we will continue massing troops along the border of Cantrev Laane. My generals and I agree the Elder intended this to be an attempt to cow our troops with the ferocity of the attack. Given the lack of follow up or attacks in other areas, it implies they do not intend to begin a full-scale assault at this point. Therefore, our Legions will continue to gather on the steppes of northeast Cantrev Suda in preparation for the campaign season.”

“We should make the pass and get over it tomorrow. We managed to cover a good bit of ground today. Once we’re through the pass itself, we’re another two days from the Ebene. Maybe three from a settlement big enough for us to buy horses. Anything closer won’t have anything they’d be willing to sell.”
Alma handed each of them a small loaf of trail bread split open to hold a large sausage, onions, and potatoes before settling on the ground with her own.
“Almost a full five-day before I can start riding again? My feet will be screaming by the time we get there.”
Linnea smiled weakly, a hint of her usual self peeking out from the clouds of her grief.
“That’s what you get for spending all your time in the towns and cities, Alma. No appreciation for the common folks who spend all their time on their feet to get anywhere.”
Alma rolled her eyes, swallowing the food in her mouth before responding.
“I like towns and cities. They have beds there. I can put solid walls between me and the things that go bump in the night. Someone else cooks my food for me and,” she said with special emphasis, “cleans up the dishes when I’m done.”
“Yes,” Runo said teasingly, “and Kal tucks you in at night and reads you a bedtime story full of fairies and rainbows.”

I've been splitting writing between the kitchen table and my desk downstairs. On my desktop, I have a wired Redragon keyboard, and I missed the mechanical click when switching to my laptop. So I picked up a BT version to use with my laptop.

“I want to head into the tunnels beneath the city. It will be easier to avoid other members of your Order and find my allies that way than it will be running through the streets. I would imagine the sand in the hourglass is slipping quickly toward Varga releasing his crimson hounds to chase us down.”
Stefan stopped speaking as Suvi attempted to control the flicker of emotion across her face, her mind racing through images of the last time she went into the tunnels. Gauffin’s gasp as Caspian ripped his essence to power a spell, the scent of armor and sweat mixed with the feeling of claustrophobia, and finally the panic as an explosion brought the ceiling down, burying half the legionnaires and almost catching Suvi in its grasp.
“Is something the matter?”
Surprise at the concern in his voice managed to stop Suvi’s spiraling mind as she lifted her eyes to his.
“I cannot say I enjoyed my last trip below Colmar. I barely avoided being buried alive, and I would prefer to continue avoiding that fate.”

I had to go with attire for this one. I went to use garb first and realized the only place I use it is in the climax scene of the book and it spoils A LOT. So this is from a villain scene in The Thousand Doors.
