A little description:

A widower reaches his violent breaking point while giving a tour of a haunted coral reef. A student pays off his lunch debt by toiling in the endless, monster-infested caverns beneath his school. An old woman discovers her fate is grotesquely connected to the endangered toads she’s trying to save. A lapsed member of a queer motorcycle gang returns to rekindle a romance, commit arson, and summon Satan.

Lonesome and Festering is Eric Raglin’s latest horror and Weird fiction collection for sickos, featuring stories about fighting for love, surviving dystopia, and becoming your worst self under capitalism and fascism.

Three criers in a row were too many for one shift. The first woman was all sniffles and snot; the second, heaving sobs; and the third, one long haunting wail that put Thalia’s heart in a vice grip.
Stick to the script, her boss always said about these tough conversations. Never let yourself get trapped on a call.
But how could Thalia possibly recite her next line when a debtor was lamenting what had become of their life? A tragedy of three part-time jobs patchworked together and a dementia-ridden mother waiting for care at home. “I caught Mom drinking dish soap last night. Puke on her shirt and bubbles in her mouth. How am I supposed to keep her safe when my third shift of the day starts in fifteen minutes? And how the fuck am I supposed to deal with you people on top of that?”

Someone in the cryptozoology subreddit misspelled the Australian cryptid Yowie as "Yaoi," and you know what? Hell yeah.

Last night, I attended another life drawing event with @okokno.bsky.social and @horrorsong.blog, which was great for the soul. I made this guy's head too big, but I've really enjoyed drawing this model both times he's been at the life drawing series.
