A friend of mine happened to be playing softball with Brad Bradford on Sunday night… It’s seems he’s comfortable making jokes about the island airport expansion, in case anybody had any doubts about where he stands on it! #topoli
I *think* (and don’t quote me on it!) it will eventually be part of the lower Don/corktown path connection… based on the Apple Maps pathing
Drew some green lines - these are the best routes coming from the south. Lots of connections the these paths. No matter what, you end up in weird liminal car-centric St. Clair West.
The Dutch (and virtually every major European city) could teach us some lessons on modernized train sheds!
February this year, the bridge on Keele north of Dundas, near Junction Road. Called 311 and they filled them in days. Wild to see all this transportation history just paved over.
That was in the 212 legislation. When they lost their court challenge, they introduced a new section replacing the ask for permission section with one that wholly prohibits new bike lanes where it removes a lane of traffic.
Possibly the best encapsulation of the political lean of the City of Toronto.
Not sure over what time or period they aggregate stats for, but last week I crossed 3k rides (been a member since 2016!)
Accidentally signed up for the @wealthsimple.bsky.social TL;DR newsletter on two emails and caught them A/B testing headlines this morning!
Beautiful day to drive your pickup down the West Toronto Railpath it seems
Drivers don’t even stop at stop signs anymore. They just roll thru them and look at you like this:
Parkside needs an overhaul, just hard to figure out how, given city rules.
If you somehow get access to the member stats, I wanna know what percentile of user base I fall into!
Saw my first new bikeshare Toronto e-bike in the wild today! Excited to ride one of these! There’s a phone mount! No gears anymore, but that’s probably fine…
I think your point about the Ford/Trump similarities are apt but it goes even further than for Carney (who actually has power). Last week, Ford threatened to aggressively campaign against Crombie’s mayoral bid. Chow has to treat Ford like an abusive father. Step out of line, and he will slap you.
This would make for the most fucked up episode of storage wars imaginable.
I *think* there’s old streetcar rails buried under the asphalt at the Keele St rail bridge north of Dundas! One is currently exposed because of a pothole! Very neat that they didn’t remove them when they last resurfaced!
I bought an LED headlamp, and like to use it in flashing mode. No excuses to not see me!
Saw this on the work slack. Not surprising. Seems like a pretty typical Gemini’s internal monologue.
That makes sense! I’d recommend buying the mounting accessory for handlebar with the “invisible” stick. It gives you better FOV than a direct mount. A few stills from some videos I took (and edited down). Two where I’m just holding the selfie stick in hand (on handlebar) and two helmet perspectives!
I do a helmet mount personally!! Gets forward and reverse view. I bought the horizontal mount attachment for my own sanity, as the vertical mount feels like too much head clearance!
Just another day in Toronto. “Don’t worry, we’re just unloading something” @thewaroncars.bsky.social @thebikinglawyer.bsky.social
Good news! #cycleTO @cycletoronto.bsky.social @thebikinglawyer.bsky.social Richmond was plowed to bare pavement between Bay and University last night! No before pics in my camera roll, but even last night there was a mountain of snow next to that fire hydrant blocking the bike lane.
