I wrote a silly sonnet about a real date my friend went on last summer

Spaghetti Princess
A sonnet (May 27, 2026)
I could hardly believe my luck that day,
to be out with a goddess so heady.
She picked, of all spots, spageddy eddy's,
where I celebrated my 10th birthday.
My sultry queen arrived to our soiree
in a sundress and tote bag so pretty,
then stunned again, stating "plain spaghetti",
the most basic selection of entree.
Mid meal the joyous date took a sharp turn,
confusing me, the staff and diners too.
My divine creature disappeared, unheard,
unseen, in the minute I was in the loo.
And then I spotted the thing most absurd:
My queen left with her spaghetti plate too.

Nearly done! Just some details left...

An update of the acrylic painting in the previous post. It is the hot dog scene from the drive-in theatre intermission video, where the bun is holding itself open and waiting for the dog to jump in it. This version has colours! A blue stage background, purple platform. The bun and dog are fully painted and outlined to highlight them.

Very important work happening

An acrylic painting in progress. It is the drive-in intermission hot dog performance, where a bun with arms and legs is directing a weiner with arms to do tricks. The pose is from near the end, where the bun holds itself open and the weiner is about to jump in. Instead of the usual text advertising the concession, the banners read "Go Full Hot Dog"
