Marvel Comics' 1976 one-shot "Captain America's Bicentennial Battles". Captain America travels through American history, starting with the American Revolution where Benjamin Franklin takes inspiration from Cap's uniform to design the flag for this new nation, then onto further significant events over the next 200 years of the United States. Comics!

Action Comics #463, shows Superman getting punched into the past, where he develops amnesia, forgets he's Superman, and becomes a reporter for Benjamin Franklin, then foils a Tory spy plot. Comics!

A thing I digitized is in this, which is pretty rad! Behold, Lincoln's disembodied hand! Now digitally encoded into artificial DNA!

Also would like to remind everybody how Wilt got to the century mark in what everybody today regards as a vaunted career-defining record for Chamberlain, in case Bam's team's actions seem uncouth:

The last of the High-Value Comics that are getting imaged (for now), but what a banger to go out on. An issue that not only brought back an icon after a decade out of comics but also raised significant continuity issues that wouldn't be addressed for thirteen years! Yes, it's all here!

Reminds me of the time I was at home taking a shower and I managed to hear the phone ring in the other room, giving me the opportunity to make an equally cultured reference:

Been doing some fun object photography for the Kislak Collection. These are late Mayan period ceramic flasks, used to hold tobacco, or at least there's tobacco residue inside them. About 1500 years old, so should be out of copyright...
