1. #MarshTit (I think) @wildlifebcn.org Waresley Woods 2 & 3 Juvenile cuckoo being fed by a reed warbler @rspbengland.bsky.social Fowlmere 4. Hummingbird hawk moth @rspb.bsky.social The Lodge #wildlife #naturephotography #birdphotography
Can anyone help me identify the #bumblebees in these pictures? I think one is a buff-tailed bumblebee, are the others ruderal bumblebees and could the larger one be a queen?
I saw loads in Spain last year (Seville and Cordoba) - they'd taken over the Metropol Parasol structure in Seville.
5. Sedge Warbler 6. Hobby 7. Coot and chick I also saw a cuckoo (photo too poor to post), there were lots of reed warblers and at least one cetti's, but they were reluctant to pose. I also had and a glimpse of bearded tits and a crane!!
Are you at RSPB Ouse Washes by any chance because I saw something similar back in September (there was a second mute swan around, just not quite close enough to get into the shot)
Exactly this. And Trump is clearly wanting the US to "own" Greenland. Maybe he'll use drugs as an excluse again... (from an Italian source)
Given Russia is criticising Trump's actions in Venezuela how will this affect Trump's attempt at a Ukrainepeace deal? Also seems to me an invitation for Ukraine to kidnap Putin. Trump couldn't now criticise such an action, whatever Venezuela has done to the US at least they haven't bombed it.
#birdwatching #birds Can anyone confirm for me whether I have the correct IDs for these birds: 1. Linnet (female?) 2. Linnet (female - taking off?) 3. Corn Bunting 4. Linnet (male?) Many thanks
Was there a few days ago and it's stunning inside - the round arches with the red and white check pattern reminded me of the wonderful Mezquita in Cordoba.
I found a coffee table book in an airBnB a year or two ago which had detailed house-by-house photos of OS maps that had been marked up by hand identifying which houses had been damaged or destroyed. I think this must be the book: www.amazon.co.uk/London-Count...
Brown roll-rim mushrooms (I think), buttercup, autumn gentian and bristly oxtongue from the same location
Betony, Self-heal, hogweed and (I think) welted thistle seen at Brownes Piece by Waresley Woods #WildlifeBCN for @wildflowerhour.bsky.social
Clouded yellow butterfly spotted @rspb.bsky.social Ouse washes reserve yesterday (it took on a passenger for the second photo)... @savebutterflies.bsky.social
Spotted this dragonfly on a walk close to our south-west cambridgeshire village. I think it is a female Southern migrant hawker (Aeshna affinis) @britishdragonflies.bsky.social Are they common in Cambridgshire?
Some photos from a walk in @wildlifebcn.org Gransden and Waresley Woods reserve:
On a lighter and fairly unrelated note I was listening to Anthony Scaramucci on the Rest is Politics US the other day and he said that his dad's description of american football was a series of committee meetings interrupted by car adverts.
