Re-watching Tales from the Crypt from the first time in decades (thanks, @shudder.com!) and it’s still so, so good. So glad I got to experience the good news at @overlookfilmfest.bsky.social this year.

The end of the Overlook Film Festival line parade in New Orleans, with grand marshal John Kassir (voice of the Cryptkeeper). He is in a red convertible sitting beside the Crypt Keeper model, surrounded on all sides by parade goers. I’m in the crowd.

His arm is around an exercising Crypt Keeper as he introduces this week’s episode, “The Switch.” In addition to being a banger, it was also his directorial debut (Arnold’s, not the Crypt Keeper’s).

Two cardinals, a courting pair, sitting right outside our sliding glass doors onto the deck (littered with treestuff). The male cardinal has been scrounging the treestuff for seeds to offer to the female as part of courtship feeding.
