why do i need caveats to that claim? it's true in england and globally and not contested as far as i know. like here's a graph this is not a nuanced thing.
gonna go fucking wild here and say that this mostly just looks like what bodies of water look like in summer and it's somewhat of an aesthetic improvement. like here's the reflecting pool at hadrian's villa in summer for comparison.
every time someone asks me to use dark mode on stream i think of this comic, which was taped to the door of my office when i did a 3 month volume thing during my poker career.
sometimes stuff in shows makes me laugh a lot and this moment was an example of one of those times. bleak self-undercutting absurdism? i think? dtf st. louis has a lot of moments like this that i liked a lot.
i'm not entirely sure how but every time i go to youtube live is shows me the stream end stats for one of the first livestreams i ever did, and it calculates the subscribers gained since then based off [subs now] - [subs at that stream's beginning]
learned about kalman filters for estimating binomial variables where p changes over time today! fun to see improvement. probably half getting better and half clicking on the fun random stuff i want to try less often.
i am having way too much fun with this. found a way to save ~200mb ram per instance so i'm up to 32 workers, and batching gpu updates (running them synchronously every ms instead of immediately every time a worker reports in) got me ~4x throughput as well.
spirebird updates: bought 32gb more ram switched to PPO w/ increased buffer size programmatically smoothed curriculum learning (>60% over last 500 runs = -1 aoe dmg per turn, -10% max hp) it has spent 40,000 runs failing to learn how to consistently kill the superelite and pick up the green key.
omg look at this green line learning that is kinda cool no? (n.b. these are runs where it has 999,999,999hp and deals 5 free aoe damage every turn).
good old computers. on the bright side it takes 2 seconds to play a full run so it can lose very quickly.
cute baby sounds sometimes anatomically converge on the same meaning in different places, c.f. mama.
my partner has instructed me to eat the cookie which is too ugly to be presentable to company. can you tell which one it is? any guesses?
