I listen to loud music for a living, I go to work to pay the bills. Real Ale | Pubs | Walking | Running | Maps and GIS | Leeds אף אחד אף פעם לא מקשיב
Good morning! Most mornings I try running somewhere new, or do something taxing, but today I just went back to one of the simple loops along the A65 and the canal from when I first started running. Has a great time, would recommend. Stay hydrated out there everyone.
You don't see a heron this majestic every day (Unless you follow @everyheron.bsky.social ).
That final #squadrats gap between Warrington and Liverpool is calling out to me...
One day Warrington will make a great cover for a @chatpileband.bsky.social live at Parr Hall album
But, I. That "failure", I found the excellent Jo Emporium in Warrington Market, and I've had some lovely beer.
People love talking about the wins in running, well, today I figuratively fell on my face. Planned on running from Manchester to Widnes, with Liverpool as a stretch goal, but with the heat, and it being way more uphill than I expected, I tapped out outside of Warrington. The sensible choice.
Well, I've picked a challenging day to go running. I'll be on the Bridgwater and Manchester Ship Canals and hoping that that offers some relief...
These LNER hire ebikes sure so get to a lot of places around Leeds. I think this one has been saved from a trip into the drink by it's weight alone.
Pints in church, just as it should be. A free finish line pint from Nightjar after a fell race and a nice spot to finish it and get changed
I've been leaning into black cotton and suffering, and I think you may be on to something...
After missing Agriculture earlier this week I decided last minute to see Febuary at The Brudenell tonight, and to and from the gig, which is a first. My latest run start time as well.
I was supposed to go see Agriculture in Manchester tonight but life got in the way of things. So, dark beer and a book (With the (neighbours) cat) it is.
Who would dump a perfectly good metal flamingo in some bushes? Well, Howard is out flamingo now and adjusting well to his new pond habitat 🦩
Happy to announce I'll be appearing at Marxism 2026 spinning The Internationale on the wheels of steel ahead of Jeremy Corbyns headline set.
Change afoot at the pond. Everything is getting a bit of a cut back so I can plan redigging this pond and building it back deeper, bigger, and leveled so that it needs fewer top ups. And more plants.
Day one of Pride Month and Queer Brewery have already said that they're calling it a day. Another brewery that just can't keep up with costs. It's a sad loss, they made great beer, and even better merch. Both of which remain for sale on their website. www.thequeerbrewingproject.com/shop?mc_cid=...
My first morning run in a while, and listening to a nice mix of Rush, The Bags and MSI. Sure put a spring in my step. And the weather seems more normal today as well. Good.
On my morning run I found the most scenic bin in all of Leeds at the top of Helston Walk Middleton. My photos don't do it justice but approaching it there are gaps in the landscape like lay lines and then from it you can see all the way to West Nab on the Derbyshire boarder.
Lucky you! I'm just having their bitter in The Victoria G Commercial. Good stuff.
I used the "It's like a sauna in here" line today and it was surprisingly well received.
This glorious sunshine will not stand in the way of my #WorldGothDay celebrations.
Nirvanna The Band The Show The Movie is coming to Bradford and I couldn't be happier (Unless Hyde Park Picture House confined a screening).
