Love books, bookshops and libraries.
Another fun evening with @thepantaloons.bsky.social with The Almost Complete History of Britain. Thoroughly recommend - they are also doing Twelfth Night all around East Anglia. Perfect summer evening. thepantaloons.co.uk
I love books about bookshops, and this is an excellent one. Shelf Life by Michael Robb
End of tour cocktails at the Festival Hall, and a proper end of term feel to the gig - what a celebration! @divinecomedyhq.bsky.social can be in no doubt how much they are loved.
Up close and personal with the owls of Eden Falconry at their Owls by Candlelight evening - gorgeous.
The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui at the RSC - vibrant, relevant, chilling. The cast is excellent, I really enjoyed the staging, and Mark Gatiss is transformed, superb, and repulsive.
Romped through Lost Lambs by Madeline Cash, a story of family and conspiracy, relevant, absurd, warm, funny.
Charmed by Project Hail Mary, Ryan Gosling on top form, it is warm, funny and escapist, if anyone feels the need for that sort of thing at the moment question?
Thank you @princecharlescinema.com for including Some Like It Hot in your Classic Film season. I know it off by heart, but have never seen it on the big screen, and to share the laughter with an audience was just magic.
Happy birthday, and thank you for The Perfect Golden Circle, one of my very favourite books.
The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper Last read 40 years ago - and the thrill of the ancient magic is still as strong. Beware the snow…
