Bike by bike. I needed to get a track bike to the nearby grass track, and the easiest way was in the bucket of a cargo bike!
Almost called months ago by @nedboulting.bsky.social in @rouleurmagazine.bsky.social about today's stage
This was the shot that made me think that. When animated, you can just about see her try to kick and get out of the saddle into the space on her left. However she does so more violently than she really should and about 1/2 second later contacts SB. It's all just messy from there
A great turnout from Queensbury Queens at the start of the George Herbert Stancer memorial ride, an annual e event where riders from all over Yorkshire ride to Pocklington to commemorate the former head of CTC @cyclinguk.bsky.social
I love this set up for getting bikes to cycle training at a local park. Had four bikes on the trailer when it arrived!
Impressively poor bit of parking, pairing up to completely block (protected!?) cycle lane and pavement. @yplac.bsky.social #yplac
Overall a decent year. A bit of disruption in the second half i won't go in to, but some good long rides, our most complete tour and more time on the cx bike than usual. Also most consistent running (albeit one parkrun a week) for about a decade. @veloviewer.com
We've done long tours before, but this was the first time we've ridden from the front door and (with a bit of rail assistance) linked two different ferry ports (Roscoff to Rotterdam) over a couple of amazing weeks across four countries.
I was there. It started filthy and got filthier! Have we had a dry Dendermonde before?
Not a great video, but a load of sparrows dust bathing and bounding around to cheer the day
Proper cross conditions at the Northern CX champs. I was crap, but it was great fun.
I find their behaviour often gives away their youth. This one landed on the door handle and calmly but confusedly tried to work out how to either get inside or off it for a couple of minutes! 😄
There was a discussion about this on one of the @escapecollective.bsky.social articles. This is the relevant rule, and it appears there is 1km for the gap to properly form. I guess it's a question for the commissaires in the vicinity.
I'd hoped for a benign start to the cx season to ease me in. The course and my bike had other ideas.
For all noise around a tiny angry minority, it's the positive, vibrant celebrations of migrant cultures that draw the crowds. Leeds West Indian Carnival
This on my commute is a horrible example. At the time I pass, it will have about 100 pupils standing waiting for the gates to open. Staff will turn blindly into the car park, and parents block it to drop off. 200m down it gives up and becomes very narrow, shared and somewhat blind.
This paragraph from West Midlands road police captures their perspective on it as the people who have to deal with the consequences trafficwmp.wordpress.com/2016/09/09/j...
