though i am sure a good number of you would have this in your inboxes, i wanted to bring my farewell to 2025 post from bandcamp over here as well. thank you all for being with me for another year, i'm very much excited for what's still to come 💗

with 2025 just about in the rearview, i wanted to take this final moment of the year to offer thanks and gratitude for bringing my music into your lives and allowing those moods and spaces to keep you company in whatever way you needed them

this year saw two releases, and the kind words given to both "to turn and remove the key" and "my heart, a palimpsest of every letter i've never written" have been greatly appreciated. i am glad to have many follow my works regardless of genre, timbre or texture. i am not sure what will be the first sounds of mine you'll hear in 2026, but i am confident that no matter what shape or form it takes my heart will still be heard true

i will, however, be bringing in the new year with a listening party for my most recent release in early january, and i hope to have you there with me. details to come as i get everything sorted

on a final note, though one that may not be terribly relevant to everyone on bandcamp, my music will be leaving all streaming services within the next couple of weeks. i had plans to drop spotify and join the many artists refusing to contribute to the nightmare they've made of the music landscape, but can also no longer justify the costs of upkeeping my releases elsewhere when it costs so much every year with no return on investment. i apologise if this will inconvenience any, but i have to be responsible enough to know when to cut losses

keep curious, let art into your heart more and more as the years tick by. to our next steps together, wherever they lead

a lovely review given by a friend, posted with permission! it always means so much to get a look into what my music conjures in the theatre of others' minds, what memories and emotions emerge thank you to everyone who grabbed a copy to keep and shared this slab of daydreams around yesterday 💗

a review of the album "my heart, a palimpsest of every letter i've never written" by our dear friend, the medic. it reads as follows:

though the tracklist is a simple 6 songs, each song is of varying length, providing a scrapbook story of memories. each song bleeds into the next, a thousand notes a painting for memories reformatted in a present setting. half formed thoughts become a palpable ache; the start of the album a light, airy thing, like bordering on the edge of a blissful dream in an afternoon nap, only to bleed into heavier, more melancholic tones as the dream is not purely comfort, but one of a bone deep longing.

the first two tracks are settling into that space between waking world and dreams, and by the time through the wintry monochromatic grain is through, you realize too late that this peaceful space is laid heavy with whispers from a long past. they become clearer in while the sodium lights hummed their soft radiance, the shadow of a fluorescent lit individual solidifying into focus. and then, attacked at full force in my heart, a palimpsest of every letter i've never written; not from the pain of remembering what was, but the pain of what could of been. it's the audible manifestation of "did I say the right thing" or "did I say enough." it's a panic attack swan dive into a cyclone of regrets, bitter and longing to speak things that were left unsaid.

the climax continues into sought the sedative of surrender in her arms, only to cease just under halfway through. the memories of what could have been are past, and you are awake once more. the pain of having loved is there, but it's not just pain. a surrender that things are as they are, yes, but understanding that...that's okay.

favourite track is through the wintry monochromatic grain; the low hums and grain transporting you to a deep, winter night, where the snow blankets your shoulder in a slow embrace. there's a figure there that you loved, but a face you've since forgotten. gentle, ominous at

a message from "our dear friend, the medic" on the bandcamp website, which reads as follows:

to all who may be wounded, sutured, lost, or found,

as you may have heard, bandcamp friday approaches us not but 24 hours from now, on august 1st. with this, i am quite eager to announce the release of some new material, an ep titled “to turn and remove the key”, which will be available for purchase exclusively on bandcamp (or at the very least, will not be available on spotify and the like)

these pieces were written in-character as part of a story project that didn’t fully come together a couple of years ago. the composer violetta, an esteemed musician of her time, wrote these pieces during a particular time in her life and marked a shift from her more experimental and avant garde works. as she lived during a pre-technology era, each work is crafted with more classical timbres - strings, woodwinds, and the ever pleasant piano

i will provide more details with the ep’s release tomorrow. even though they are all through the perspective of a fictional person, i still feel a deeply intimate connection with each piece. as i listen to them now, giving one final round of polish, i can feel a welling brought about by the sapphic yearning and release found within

it is time for the sound of her heart to be heard by the world at last
