Two amazing book mail days in a row! Thanks for getting these out to me so quickly, @kekw-writer.bsky.social, and for signing them 🤗 Going to dip into these once I've finished Hookland Fragments Vol. 1 - it's a very good week for the Weird
Haven't had much chance to dip in yet, but the absolute best book mail arrived today. I had to miss the talk that forms the core of this beautiful @hookland.bsky.social artefact, and it's wonderful to have it now, along with various other elements and influences of England's finest lost county 🖤
I have a very long way to go finding/shelving all my books after a house move, but these were the first up

Birthday presents from my 5yo son, who, I think it's fair to say, has very much nailed the core elements of his father's personality.
Anyone familiar with Stewart Lee's Top Gear routine will know how I mean this.
Double billed these two last night, looking for a vibes boost on a short story I managed to finish today. Far from completely happy with the ending, but I think I can do something with it 🤞
Woo-hoo!!! Anything higher than 0% would've worried me, to be honest. Fuck Tech Bros, man.
I absolutely devoured this book, and was more than a little devoured by it in return. A work of great power and beauty from @emptywrites.bsky.social
Yes, I'm religious. I believe in the Holy Trinity (both versions).
Obviously not the main role he'll be remembered for, but I always loved the quiet dignity and empathy Robert Duvall brought to Prendergast in Falling Down. A man with no less shit thrown at him than D-Fens, but not broken by it.
