Accepting the Lorraine Branham Award from Newhouse School of Public Communications Evelyn Hsu reflected on the Maynard Institute’s legacy and the generations who shaped it. “Legacy is not something we simply inherit,” Hsu said. “It is something we are responsible for carrying forward.”
At the Newhouse School of Public Communications Mirror Awards, Martin G. Reynolds (Martin Reynolds on the Maynard Institute’s mission to ensure journalism reflects the country’s diversity. “Our hope is that our shared humanity will prevail. This moment is difficult. But the work is clear.”
The Maynard Institute received the Lorraine Branham Award at the Newhouse School of Public Communications. Board chair John X. Miller praised Evelyn Hsu and Martin Reynolds for leading “with vision, compassion, precision, persuasiveness, and humanity” and training a community of journalists.
