I eventually had to buy a hoodie because it was far too cold and that became my Seattle souvenir lol. Flying out we had to take a bus to our plane and then climb up stairs to get in. Absolutely wild how COLD it is in Seattle vs how hot Austin is. Left Seattle it was 66, get to Austin it was mid 90s!
I didn't create a zine but the Zine corner was absolutely popping and everything was so FUN!
Last game was a Go Play favorite, Viva La Queer Bar! I absolutely adore this low energy game and it always leaves me feeling so happy! We even used these Pride Knight cards that were BEAUTIFUL and in the end Bill gave me the deck because he had extra 🥺
Today I got to playtest Sweet Thirteen! It's a paperback novel style game that's like Babysitter's Club! The character sheet is mad libs, it's a 1d20 system with social status stars you can increase or decrease the die! Played in chapters, so cuteeeee. Cannot wait to get it when it's out
Yesterday evening was Troika! It wasn't my favorite as it felt very OSRy (idk if it actually is) and I was tired, but we made it fun! I tried it finally and that's what counts.
Today so far I've only played in Every Second Counts by @olddog.games ! Based off the Bear using the Paragon system, the restaurant goes through the drama of dealing with their own place and the stress of cooking itself! I would LOVE TO PLAY THIS AGAIN!
Played Metal Showcase 11PM by @jmstar.bsky.social! @ktwelves.bsky.social facilitated this beautiful where the collective of a bassist's consciousness came together to get a band and rock out in the Battle of the Bands! A "choose your own adventure" style game, it truly could have gone any way!
So much visiting! I figure I should visit the central parts of the US soon. Lol
Also hey @luckduckgames.bsky.social do y'all still sell Ganymede? I helped run the booth at PAX South in 2019 and I adored the game but the booth sold out before I could grab a copy. I got this expansion pack and have been holding onto ages hoping I could get the board game lol

Happy New Years y'all! I found a community in the gym, lifted heavy, and played volleyball after 20 years. I'm surrounded by dear friends, a support network, and full of love. I've also gotten back into creative writing! A step back from game design and playing games, but there's next year!

Also, it is max out week at the gym and my current PR for back squat is 260 lb!
Been living in the moment a lot lately. This past weekend was the gym's friendsgiving, goat yoga Saturday morning, and queer MMA on Sunday. What an absolute blast of loving my body.
