It’s from The Tale of Aragon and Arwen. Below is an excerpt from Wikipedia. I think the quote would be OK in the circumstances you mentioned.
Morning Guy and weekend ORCs. The baby olive trees in pots at the front have olives – will they ripen? Very noisy here as SE Water are finally replacing pipework all over the area. Road closures and diversions abound. Not complaining; it’s very much needed after all the burst pipes we’ve had.
Dear The Sun, let me correct your headline for you: Only 693 days till the men’s Euros
Yep, my eggs are in Dot the duck on top of the work surface. The only things in the fridge are milk, cheeses, juice, unopened butter, tomato puree, salad leaves, cucumber, peppers, carrots, cooked beetroot, ketchup, mayonnaise, mustards, meats/fish. Never bread, honey, tomatoes
No, South East Water, the issue is not caused by high demand in hot weather. It’s caused by your inability to treat enough water to meet the needs of customers due to your historical lack of investment in infrastructure. Bonuses and shareholders have been your priority for years.
Morning Mushen. Can’t get up at the moment as Leo is on me. Fortunately, OH had made tea. So pleased it’s cooler today. Village walk, then taking it easy with a book as a busy week ahead. Happy Sunday wishes to you and Beans 💐
Morning CiF. Happy Sunday ORCers. OH woke me at 5 when he shut the windows to block out the dawn chorus. He can hear that but not me or the TV a lot of the time. Sitting in the garden with a pot of tea, a book, Leo in a flower bed, listening to the birds and bees – very happy place to be.
Hope she feels more comfortable very soon. Ainsworth homeopathic pharmacy can make up and post an arnica/calcarea phosphorica combo that aids bruising and bone healing. I used it for my broken wrist and each of the 3 times son broke his arm.
#SundayPixWater When it rains harder than the French drain in the front garden can cope with!
Morning Bruges, Sussex responding! Have done household chores, now on to more weeding – they grow faster than I remove! Then more sanding woodwork at son’s flat. Off to a The Doors tribute band gig this evening. A Netherlander band who are fabulous.
#SundayPixFavourite Wombat37: The inventor of so much that made Twitter and then Bluesky fun: Twanta, Sausage League, Sunday Pix. Michael was the best of the best. I’m so grateful to @littlemavis.bsky.social for leaving his account open so we can revisit when we need cheering up.
I’m a fan of her writing style and this one hasn’t disappointed. Each of her books weaves a story around a place and a mystery, that spans time periods and involves interesting characters.
Morning Caroline, morning ORCs. Sunny but chilly in Sussex. He doesn’t know it yet but Operation Slimline Leo begins today! Just have to persuade OH not to feed him on demand!
Even with the green bin we end up doing autumn dump runs with leaves from the enormous oaks opposite. Lovely when they’re in full leaf but . . .
I wish DeformUK [sic] would stop sending election flyers to my house through the post. I’d like them on my doorstep so I can tell them precisely what I think. (Pardon my Old Norse – I’ve been driven to expletives I’ve never used before.)
I offer this ‘selfie’ of Leo Fitzwilliam Darcy along with my very best wishes for tomorrow 🤞🍀
Every day there are errors on the BBC News website. They really should bring back proofreading before publishing
Morning CiF, morning ORCs. Misty but should be sunny later. Had unexpected visitors in the garden yesterday, two pheasants! They strutted about for 5 minutes, pecked at plants and then disappeared over the hedge. All very exciting to an ex Londoner. Hope hump day is the best it can be for you all.
Hope the haircut was a good distraction, and Beans provides further distraction this afternoon. Leo’s taking it easy
