Late 80's Indie Popsters! Peel Session released in 2022 on @precrecs.bsky.social !! "Rip Roaring Stuff from the Perth boys!!" John Peel.
This tour. Small venues, lugged their own gear, minimal lighting. I was at the Dunfermline gig, too.

I helped them out on 5 or 6 gigs. TP! got to know them & McCarthy when we moved to London and I was happy to stand in until they got a permanent drummer. These reviews were gigs I played and the Falcon recording, too. @indiepophalloffame.bsky.social www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujsI...
And here's the chart from our archive scrap book. Straight in at 26, then up to 18 then straight back out! 😂
Pics I took of them in may '86 at Hoochie Coochie Club Edinburgh. They were brilliant!
This is the setlist I swiped the night before at Dundee University.

You look like you were up against the barrier to get pics that close. Here's some I took a very long time ago, 2ft high stage, no barrier.

Here's a pic a took of them 1.2.87 Dundee Dance Factory. Perth boys, The Relations, supported.
Probably lost touch with the McCarthy boys around 1990. While still in Scotland we organised a couple of mini tours in 1987 for them. We supported on some gigs.
Very cool. Yes, almost overlapped. Arrived from small town Perth summer '88, 1 year in Streatham then 4 in Brixton. Loved it! Beer gardens, The Fridge, Academy, squat parties, markets, lidos, Ritzy, Prince of Wales, Prince Albert, 159 Route master, Victoria Line. Posted ticket stubs recently.
The Skids - 8 November 1979 Perth All 4 of TP! were at this gig but we didn't know each other yet! The guy on someone's shoulders is our guitarist, Derek. This image was used as part of a local music exhibition covering a wall of Perth Museum a couple of years ago!
🎉HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR DEREK🎉 (it's a big number) He's known as The Peter Pan of Indie Pop round these parts! Here's some old pics! @miromoir.bsky.social @slumberlandrecords.com @precrecs.bsky.social @jetstreampony.bsky.social @petepaphides.bsky.social @lindymorrison.bsky.social
Brilliant! They were the coolest band in Perth when we were getting our act together. Played with them many times, definately overlooked! They did a Peel Session, too! 📸I took of them at Fat Sams in Dundee. @miromoir.bsky.social
Forgot. Saw Bauhaus play there twice. Me and my pal were on the guest list for the Bunnymen so no ticket stub. Bauhaus in '82 must have been during school holidays. We stayed in Glasgow on the Sunday night then through to Edinburgh the next day to see them again.
Only 2 gigs I went to at Tiffanys. Glasgow was a long way away for a teenager from Perth! 😂
