Hi there. Tough read for me. Asynch participation has been a crucial point of accessibility for me given the nature of my illness. It’s hard to see LSC suggest participation to the extent I’m able might be less desirable than excluding me entirely. That attitude pushed me away from DSA for a while.
He was one red flag after another and at best many people did not care, but at worst trumpeting how much you didn’t care became a kind of willful vice signaling—exemplified in this Matt Stoller post but not remotely limited to him.
Ro Khanna’s already got a statement out. I hope we won’t have to wait too much longer for theirs.
I’m thrilled! A ton of corporate money was dumped in to try to block this and organized people power still won!
This is interesting. Does it predict that in communities where there is relatively high civic engagement, DSA will fare poorly? We’ve done badly here in NoVa; admittedly we haven’t run anyone since 2021 so maybe it was a matter of numbers and stage of development but I also wonder about the terrain…
