We had a fantastic turnout from London at the WorldPride march in Amsterdam. This year is very special because it marks 25 years since same-sex marriage was legalised in The Netherlands - the first country to do so. The then-Mayor of Amsterdam officiated at the first weddings.

I was so delighted to help launch London’s bid to host WorldPride 2032 at an event in this year’s host city, Amsterdam. It was great to hear from bid partners @prideinlondon.bsky.social UK Black Pride and Outernet about how LGBTQIA+ communities will be at the heart of London’s bid.

The Ending Homelessness Accelerator Programme is working to prevent and tackle all forms of homelessness in London. It was great to chair the first meeting of the board since the local elections with new London Councils co-chair Cllr Anthony Okereke.

The Mayor’s new draft London Plan sets out how we will make the best use of land, including building new homes near public transport. Places for London have a key role to play delivering homes by stations, and it was good to join their panel at the London Labour conference.

London has just recorded the first annual fall in the number of people sleeping rough in a non-Covid year since 2017. At LGA conference I set out how the Mayor’s Plan of Action on Rough Sleeping and our Ending Homelessness Accelerator Programme with London Councils are starting to bear fruit.

Once a derelict dockside site, Royal Albert Wharf is now a thriving community. As the last of the 1,856 homes complete, I had a tour of the site and met one of the residents of the London Living Rent homes. Thanks to @london.gov.uk funding, 45% of the homes are affordable.

The development includes key worker housing for NHS workers, and new council homes. Historic buildings have been restored, and an expanded Peace Garden created. Huge congratulations to Peabody and Hill for reaching this milestone, and to KCA architects for their design.

We just celebrated the first new homes at Northgate Park in Haringey. This is a very special development for City Hall. As well as funding affordable homes, the Mayor bought the site from the NHS using his Land Fund. That means 60% of the 995 homes will be affordable.

I joined Building Safety Minister Samantha Dixon MP to see progress on a building undergoing cladding remediation with funding from the Building Safety Fund. The visit highlighted many complexities including multiple defects, site constraints and a developer/freeholder who refused to engage.

In London we’ve taken inspiration from Singapore for our City Hall developer, and from Vienna for low-cost loans for housing associations. Good to discuss how we’re learning from other cities - and how they’re learning from London - at the @thefabians.bsky.social Housing Summit.

It was fantastic to celebrate the completion of the first 733 homes at Lombard Square in Thamesmead, delivered by Berkeley Homes and Peabody. Lombard Square will be 40% affordable, with funding from @london.gov.uk. Once an industrial site, now a beautiful, green neighbourhood.

As part of London Climate Action Week, I visited Tipping Point East at Silvertown in the Royal Docks, the UK’s first circular construction hub. Great to see how reclaimed materials are helping cut waste in construction. A fantastic @london.gov.uk / Newham Council initiative.

Delighted and honoured to recieve a RIBA Honorary Fellowship last night. Big congrats to my fellow nominees - it’s very humbling to be in such distinguished company! This honour also reflects the collective efforts of so many people I’m privileged to work with at City Hall.

The World Cities Summit brings together mayors, city leaders and experts from around the world to discuss how we build more sustainable and livable cities. At this year’s WCS in Singapore I spoke about the work we are doing on key worker housing, new towns and regeneration.

Inspired by Singapore’s public housing model, @london.gov.uk has set up a new City Hall Developer with a £100m investment into Silvertown Quays. Earlier this week @sadiqkhanlondon.bsky.social and I visited SkyResidence at the Dawson’s estate in Singapore built by the state-owned HDB.

Back from a packed few days in Singapore with Opportunity London meeting investors, developers and city leaders to make the case for investment in London’s homes and infrastructure. Strong interest in our city and a great fondness and affinity for London and Londoners. 🇬🇧🤝🇸🇬

Our City Hall Developer model is inspired by Singapore, where 80% of residents live in public housing delivered by their state-owned housing company. Today Sadiq and I visited one of their developments - Sky Residence - built by Singapore’s Housing and Development Board.

It was fantastic to join @sadiqkhanlondon.bsky.social and mayors from around the world at the ceremony awarding this year’s Lee Kuan Yew prize to London. We know London is the greatest city in the world - and now we have the trophy to prove it. 🏆

Great to be in Singapore with Opportunity London, meeting investors and making the case for greater investment in housing across our city. London needs more homes, especially affordable homes, and partnerships with investors can help unlock the housing and infrastructure we need.

With a new mayoral administration in New York City it’s an exciting moment to visit, share ideas and learn. It was great to meet with Deputy Mayor for Operations, Julia Kerson, and city government representatives from NYC to discuss housing policy, challenges and solutions.

It was an absolutely scorching day to celebrate the groundbreaking for 651 new homes at Barking Riverside with L&Q, more than half of which will be affordable. A new GP practice is also on the way nearby in advance of the larger, permanent health facility in the district centre.

Today I joined Old Oak Park Royal Development Corp. to launch their search for a partner to help deliver 8k new social, affordable and private homes and 11k jobs. With all the land at Old Oak now in single public ownership this is an incredible opportunity in what will be the best connected place.
