So, I created this with one of the photos from the performance I did a month ago. What do we all think? 👀 Thinking about making prints of this one to help raise money for my ACE funding. Hey, #SizeSky, anyone brave enough to hang Nancy on their wall?
I may have made this yesterday evening using one of the photos from the show. I'm tempted to make giclee prints of it. Maybe as a perk for contributions to my Arts Council match funding... (Content is an artsy photo of me topless and screaming against a red background. With stage blood on my face!)
okay screw it, I'm finally gonna start drip-feeding the photos from the show two weeks ago! This is the first of the photos during Nancy's appearance at THIS IS A THREAT at Piehouse Co-op, London, on the 21st May. There will be more to come... 📸 Credit: Ross Kernahan
I don't give my announcements as much build up as Quinn does, but I said I would reveal our Secret Project™ today, so here it is! I am turning @bug-in-a-cage.bsky.social's size essays into a PHYSICAL BOOK printed + published by my own micropress, The 50-ft Press! Cover reveal below. Details in 🧵!
Some preliminary photos from tonight, taken by the wonderful @bug-in-a-cage.bsky.social! Official photos and videos will be coming soon! Thanks to Tamm Reynolds, Chisenhale Dance Space, and Piehouse Co-op for putting on this phenomenal night of disabled performance artists being mad and messy!
Coming up on a year's anniversary of the party that originally inspired this artwork! I've always been really socially anxious and have famously been terrible at flirting historically. I got kissed for the first time in 13 years that night. A year on, and I somehow have a whole-ass partner now...
This one is getting stomped first. Never have I encountered a Chelsea Tractor with the *audacity* to possess such delusions of rurality for a vehicle that will solely be used to drive dear little Imogen and Tristan to their preparatory school off Sloane Square and back...
This is what the start of my ideal lesbian fantasy looks like. I will leave you to work out which one I would prefer to be in this scenario lol!
So this is what the Mail-Out peeps are getting for this round. I have produced a definitive Author's Preferred Text edition of 'Anguish of the 50-ft Woman', with an all-new fold-out poster on the inside cover featuring a photo print from SizeCon! And they'll have that secret scrap of fabric too...
ngl I think @shrinkingdoll.bsky.social nailed it last night when they said that this is my entire vibe. And I am really feeling the need to be a soft, sweet angel resting up all cosy right now. Would really love to wrap myself up in the velvet fabric of space-time like it's a warm, silky bedsheet...
I am going to send out the first lot of Mail-Outs on Friday! I'm so sorry for making everyone wait so long for this one, but this one's gonna be worth the wait. Yes. That is a shred of old T-shirt stapled to the corner of it. No, I'm not gonna explain why it's there. You'll have to wait and see...
Here's the copy that's on the back of all the prints, too. As could be seen on the original GIF of prints pouring out of my RZ370 EP. I'm really happy to have got to make these for @lovethrupoke.bsky.social, and I hope we get to produce more cool stuff together!
'The Feast' (Teal Riso print on 170gsm A3 Context Natural) @lovethrupoke.bsky.social
'Breaking Free' (Black Riso print on 170gsm A3 Context Natural) @lovethrupoke.bsky.social
I've been working with @lovethrupoke.bsky.social to produce some riso prints based on her 'A Great Knight' graphic novel! We've been speaking about the possibility of producing a physical graphic novel of her work for a bit, and made these as a proof-of-concept. Anybody fancy one? 👀 (More in 🧵)
Um, excuse me, but may I *remind* you that I was in fact the first person to have put an @eldritchgts.com artwork on a piece of physical printed media? (I am just joking around! The book by @gamesized.bsky.social that Eld contributed the cover to looks so cool!)
something exciting is happening 👀👀👀 @lovethrupoke.bsky.social #SizeSky
I picked up @robclassact.bsky.social's 'Ordinary Girls' at SizeCon, and it's so soul-soothing. As an extremely tall woman whose self-image was shaped by freak-show reality TV in the late-2000s, this chapter where tall-girl character Whitley recalls being TV interviewed as a teenager is so cathartic!
ALSO: These were buried underneath everything! @cavitees.bsky.social @lilbroadabroad.bsky.social @sillylilbug.bsky.social
Needed TWO WHOLE PHOTOS to get in all the hashtag swag I picked up from @sizecon.bsky.social and my trip to Powell's with @sillylilbug.bsky.social the day after the Con! Gonna try and do all the necessary shout-outs in a thread below. If I've missed you, lmk!
In among everything else I've got going on at the moment (running a solo event and being on four panels @sizecon.bsky.social, prepping interviews for archiving, planning grant bids etc.), I'll be tabling at this next month! Glad to be doing #zine fairs again! 🗓️ 11th April 📍 St. James Hatcham, SE14
Finally, a shot of all the performers! We also had lectures about the Robot Wars robot Hypno-Disc, extremely detailed statistical analyses of character deaths in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, the weird origins of the term "polyamory", and TTRPGs that are *not* D&D. Amongst others. Fun night!
Some more for you here too! Some from the event photographer, others from @bug-in-a-cage.bsky.social who attended the show. I had to include photos of the slides featuring @kemslash.bsky.social and @didi.rocks' art here. Also featured was art of @bignatureenby.bsky.social by @mcdead11.bsky.social!
Last night Nancy took to the stage in East London to deliver her performance lecture 'My Gender Is "Giantess" — Let's Unpack That For A Bit' at The Hyperfixation Presentations! Completely unrehearsed. Completely unhinged. I'm so goddamn proud of how it went and wanted to share PICTURES!!!
The sheriff's deputy from 'Attack of the 50-ft Woman' (1993) is a transmasc icon and I will not be taking any further questions. (Thanks SO MUCH to everyone who came to the hybrid screening tonight! I know the technical difficulties were a pain but it was worth it in the end!)
I cut some new buildings out of balsa wood yesterday! I'm going to coat them and mould/cast them, to make a replacement for the micro-sized Manhattan stamped with a giant platform heel I perform with. The first one was only meant to be a basic experiment in set design, so now I'm upgrading it!
Okay. I think I'm in a position where I can finally post this. I'm hosting a hybrid screening of 1993's 'Attack of the 50-ft Woman' during an artist's residency I'm doing next weekend! 🗓️ 15th March 🕕 6:30pm GMT 📍 In-person (address on next slide) and via a Discord server I've acquired Be there!
I completely missed out the last time we did one of these! Not making that mistake again! Anyone wanna have a go at tagging me?...
