The Don Hornsby Show (also billed as The Anchor Hocking Show) (1950)

Don "Creesh" Hornsby, a rising 26-year-old comic, was slated to host American television's first-ever late night variety show for NBC. Hornsby suddenly died from a rapid onset of polio the day he was to host his first episode. On May 22, 1950, after a one-week delay, NBC went ahead with the basic format, launching Broadway Open House with Jerry Lester in what would have been Hornsby's time slot. That series would form the most basic structure of the late night television format, and eventually be re-formed as NBC's enduring franchise, The Tonight Show.

A package of Skittles Gummies Fuego (?!) in a display box. The package is a dark purple with the standard Skittles rainbow and a “spice meter” next to the word “Fuego.” They apparently rate a two out of a possible three balls of fire. The illustrated candles themselves look like normal Skittles dusted with Flamin’ Hot Cheetos powder, which may in fact be what they are.

I thought I understood the whole Taylor ham vs. pork roll thing, but now I’m just confused.

A sealed package in a deli case labeled “Taylor's Red Cap Mild Flavor Pork Roll”. The package is white with red trim and most of the text is also in red. Additional text in blue identifies it as being from Trenton. The word “ham” does not appear anywhere on the package.
