Conway — who worked for years in New York City as an attorney but has more recently been living in Bethesda, Maryland — said he was spurred to run for Congress after a conversation with a friend about her frustration with some Democrats’ decision to vote to end last year’s government shutdown.

Conway didn’t want to challenge his congressman in Maryland, Rep. Jamie Raskin, who he said he loves, so the friend suggested he instead look at a seat in Manhattan that was soon to be vacant following the retirement of Rep. Jerry Nadler.

Conway said he looked it up on Wikipedia, and realized it was his old stomping grounds.

Everyone should know they roomed together during at least one Fringe and would go out cruising girls together. Mae said they both struck out, and at the end of the summer had a moment of “should we…?” but they never did. I…have an imagination.

I don’t like an overall university “learn how to use AI” approach mentioned in the article but I don’t think I’m mad about this module based on the description.

"There's no agenda for what students should take away from this, except what we all agree on, which is that when you have information, you can make better judgments about what you want to do with the technology," Rosenzweig said.

The first section walks students through the mechanics of large language models, while the second examines Al's effects on education, including published research from Harvard faculty on custom chatbots in physics courses and the AI course assistant for Computer Science 50: "Introduction to Computer Science." The third takes up questions of environmental impact, data privacy, copyright, and disinformation.

Rosenzweig said the module close-reads the terms of service for popular chatbots in the privacy section - an exercise she said her own students have found illuminating.

"This is a work in progress," Rosenzweig said. "As society's conversation about AI changes, expect the module to keep up with that as much as possible."
