The president is not a scientist, nor is he well-versed in every scientific field.
Thus, his political inclinations are not informed by science, and he doesn't have a sense of what kinds of scientific studies are necessary to further public health, medical advancements, energy, technology, or general research.
Science funding should not be under the influence of one person's prejudices, narrow-mindedness, or agenda. It should be determined by panels experts who understand the subjects deeply and can judge what would be most beneficial. We've seen this administration cut funding for programs they didn't understand, such as screw worm prevention, and then the ending of these programs led to dire consequences.

America is the world leader in science and innovation. By making science in the thrall to a politician, we will lose so much. We'll lose talent, innovation, and important breakthroughs. We'll lose that steady stream of advancements that have made cancer more survivable, that have decreased child mortality, and that have improved clean energy and energy efficiency. If you want to keep America great, then invest in science and don't put science under the thumb of politics.

I talked to my representative’s staff about impeachment in March, and got told it’s not in the cards. Thinking about that conversation again.

When talking to Representative Jayapal's staff in March, I said impeachment is necessary. I said there are times when law breaks down and people resort to political violence, which can have a variety of outcomes, many of which are not good. I said impeachment is the legal way to remove a president, and if the republic is to survive, we must remove the president via the mechanisms we have in the Constitution.
After Trump made his "a civilization will die tonight" post, Coldforce reposted a lot of people calling for impeachment.
No articles of impeachment were introduced. 17 days later, Coldforce entered the White House Correspondents' dinner with the goal of assassinating the president and cabinet members.

This morning I emailed my congressperson telling her that the 8 million people who protested yesterday is a sign that she should impeach. I recommend contacting your reps and telling them to do their damn jobs.

On Saturday, over 8 million people showed up nationwide to protest the Trump administration.
On Vashon island, we had around 800 people protesting, according to our local newspaper The Beachcomber. That is over 7% of the island population.
Many people showed up with signs that say, "Impeach".
This week the senate voted overwhelmingly to fund TSA, FEMA and the Coast Guard. Then the House rejected it because Johnson does whatever Trump wants.
Congress's power has been usurped by the president. I'm sure there are many members of the House who would love to end this situation.
Please harness the anger and frustration of your colleagues and of the 8 million people who protested this weekend to put forth articles of impeachment against Trump. He has committed so many impeachable acts, so you have a wealth of crimes and constitutional violations to choose from.
People are piling into the streets and screaming for you to take this action. When will you listen?
