Mostly a lot of Birmingham.
I used to do a bit of licensing law early in my career and in Brum we have the massive pubs down Broad Street that focus on vertical drinking. The committee has discretion to impose some conditions but not a ban as is proposed here.
Manchester mayor election. Clearly shenanigans going on. Looking forward to the details in due course.
What shenanigans must be going on in the background of the Manchester mayoral count for it to be taking all day to get to a first round result on a 25% turnout?
The Mayor of Casterbridge. I hope that the kids of today are not subjected to this horror show.
Here's my theory about money laundering and Bob Shops. They always have loads of Costco water (£20 for 40 bottles). You pretend to sell a lot of these for, say, £2.50 each so £2 profit and put the money in the till. Bin the water and recycle the bottles. That's £2 laundered per bottle.
There's a woman I sometimes see on the A38 cyclepath here in Brum with a wheelchair and a power pack like this. I wonder if the police would also want to seize that?
I can just imagine Farage and his acolytes in a smoky room thinking they can win Clacton with reasonable certainty so calling the by-election is a great plan. However, they failed to understand the lesson of the 1981 film War Games. Well played to the main parties playing as WOPR.
Ed, they don't need to. Let him stand against no main political party opposition then continue the investigation.
There's only one candidate who can credibly stand against Farage. Step up our favourite Independent Space Warrior, @countbinface.bsky.social
We might be getting two by-elections. Farage called this one. If he wins then the Standards Commissioner will continue once he's back in the house. If he's suspended then a recall petition and we are back again.
Timed to tie with the handing down of the Prince Harry judgment. Harry gonna be gutted to have the limelight stolen.
That is going to use c7 millions litres of water a day. Last time I checked Kent has a bit of an issue with water at the moment. Source: assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/688cb4...
This bloke is an individual success and an example of what a good refugee system should look like. Well done him. (text from the BBC)
Every time someone uses AI to post a misogynistically altered photo of a woman, a sea turtle dies. Here's the original image. Let's try and do better.
With thanks to @martinnutbeem.bsky.social 's wife, I've followed her lead and am not messing about on the sunny side of the house.
I managed to keep it to 25 on the ground floor and 27 on the second, good knows what on the third. I'm following your wife, thank her for me.
Disappointed to see Gatwick getting approval to bring the emergency runway into use leading to a potential 100,000 more flights a year. We don't need this.
